My hips were a size four but everything else was a size two. The ladies tried to convince me to get a size four but I’m glad I didn’t because I had to have extra padding added to my size two just to fill up the bust haha! If at all possible, get a corset back, they are much easier to fit into IMO.

From top to bottom, I’m a size 12, 10, and 8. Shopping is always a frustrating process!

My chest is two sizes larger than my other measurements. Regular shopping is depressing because I can’t fit into shirts OR it looks like I am trying to be sexy when I am not. Even in the most conservative shirts I look like Jessica Rabbit.

I bought an online sample and only had some very dodgy measurements that i took myself with a tape measure that was too small to onside me, but I seem to have the opposite problem to everyone else. I’m a Uk size 10 and I bought my dress in that size. I did compare my measurements to the dress chart and saw that it looked like I was between a size 8 and 10. The dress is at least 1 size, if not 2 sizes too big! I ended up shoving a water bottle down the back of my dress to make fit look decent so I could take pics. I think part of the problem is that im small up top, but carry my weight on my hips which isn’t an issue for an aline dress. If it was a mermaid dress I would have to go a bit bigger.

heres the dress as is, absolutely hanging off me!

And here’s the dress how it should look

Should at least be easy to alter!

My chest is supposedly something like an 8 or 10, while the rest of me is a 2 or 4. Ugh.

I have a 32Dirty Delete chest, so I def. need alterations (in EVERYTHING I WEAR) to make it fit my ribcage AND my bust.

Oh, geez; comparing my measurements to the dress size charts is just depressing.  I’m only two different sizes, but they’re BIG sizes…

I’m normally a size 0/2, but my dress is a 4. Even though I’m a 32D and have big hips, my largest measurement was my waist. WTF

I was a size 4 on all three measurements but I still had to have alterations to bring the bodice in.

I measured into the size 10-10-12 with my hips only being slightly into the 12.  The sample fit great so I just got the 10.  I don’t need any alterations…just the bustle.  So just my hips measured larger…same reason I normally wear an 8 in dresses but have to buy 10 in pants!

I’m 6-4-8 according to the size chart. I am very much so pear-shaped.

*sigh, I remember my thinner teenage years when I thought I was huge…

@kes18: Woohoo, pears unite! I’m a 4 in dresses and tops, and 6-8 in jeans/skirts

I have broad shoulders ( I weight lift) and a broad chest (but no boobs lol)

small waist and hips that aren’t much bigger than my waist….THEN I have bigger than average thighs and calves, finding clothing that fits me is insane at times.

Thankfully with my dress it wasn’t as much of an issue because of the sillhouette I choose, a dropped waist ball gown.  That being said…I had to get a size 10 because of my top half (bust measurement, not cup size), but I have to have the waist/hip area just above the poof taken in 2-3″. (through my midsection I probably could have fit a size 6 or 8 gown)

My calves measure 15.5″ around…my calves are sadly as large as or more large then some guys, this makes sock/boot buying nearly impossible at times. I’m wearing thigh highs under my dress and I already know they will probably look like knee socks LOL

I think they make those measurements unrealistic, but I suppose they have to have a base line somehow.
