My Fiance knows the price of my dress and veil together, the color, and the bridal salon I bought it from (not that it helps because I went to kleinfeld and they have hundreds if not thousands o dresses) but that’s all he’s getting out of me!

I can’t wait for him to see the dress it’s so hard keeping secrets from your best friend!!

tatjanafaith: I tried my dress on when I picked it up, and my Fiance was with me! I also sent him pics of my top 4 dresses that I tried on when I went dress shopping and asked for his opinion – I wanted to make sure I bought a dress that we both liked. We’re not superstitious at all and I think it’s funny when people are kinda disappointed that he’s seen me in it already. But, I’m not going to take him with me when I do the alterations and fittings, so the end product will still be a bit of a surprise.

Chaitea:  My Fiance said he want to know noting about my dress. It’s funny he’ll be looking over my shoulder when i’m on the bee looking at dress threads and he’s say i’m not gonna see you dres am i? I told him you wont know if you do see it.

I told my husband that it was white, not-poofy and not-tight. I wanted to alleviate his concerns about me wearing a huge princess gown, because thats not what he likes.

I actually didn’t show my dress to anyone except my mom and aunt, who went shopping with me. It was harder to keep it a secret from my sisters than from my DH!

I’m a bit weird when it comes to this superstition.  My fiance and I started out with him not wanting to know anything about the dress.  Then we moved on to him looking at dresses online with me and pointing out what he liked and didn’t like, and eventually he went to a bridal salon with me and saw me in some dresses.

I actually had no problem with him seeing me in the samples, but when my actual dress arrived, I did not want him to see it.  It’s in an opaque garment bag in my closet.  Maybe it’s because this one is actually MY dress and not just a sample.  The funny thing is, I don’t think he has any clue what I will walk down the aisle in because he has seen me in so many other dresses.

Chaitea:  Fiance definitely has an “idea” as to what my dress looks like, but I don’t think he knows for sure. I actually had dress regret and sold the original dress that I bought, which was a full A-line, sweetheart, champagne and lace dress. Gorgeous, dreamy, romantic–Ultimately, not me.

Instead, I went with a gold/champagne lace, tea-length, 3/4 length sleeves dress with a scalloped neckline which was everything I dreamed it would be. I showed my Fiance my old dress and he actually didn’t like it. He said it wasn’t “me” and that if he could picture me in a dress it would be exactly like the new one I bought 🙂 I haven’t told him that he’s correct. It’s hanging in our closet, but luckily, he isn’t as curious as I am and wants to be surprised. He does know that it’s less poofy than my first one, and possibly short, but besides that, he doesn’t know.

Mine doesn’t want to know much, but he does know that it is Ivory because his mom at dinner said “your dress isn’t white white is it”, I was kinda quiet hopign she would get the hint and she said its like a cream color.

I said no it is ivory but you wouldn’t know unless it is next to a white dress.

Fiance has made comments about not really liking wedding dresses that aren’t white (hes a wedding photographer) – but I loved my dress in ivory so that is what i got.

Hopefully he will have one of his selective hearing moments and forget the conversation happened. And she will be quiet for the next 5 months!

grace2design:  I knew I wasn’t the only one. I’m not superstitious, and we’re both in our 40’s… chances are the slipping of the eyes at this decade also means he probably didn’t really see it lol!

My SO’s mother has not stopped harassing me with both her eyes and words in order to make sure that I absolutely not let my SO see what the dress looks/smells/feels like lol! Because we live in a different city from most of our friends and family, the dress is currently stored in its original Allure bridals garment bad in our joint closet. I don’t suspect he has been peeking at all because he says he doesn’t want to know what the dress looks like until the big day. If it were up to me, I would have revealed it by now. I’m so BAD at keeping surprises hahaha

He knows that I got one, and I’ve pointed out stuff that I think is pretty on SYTTD, and usually it’s in the same vein as what I bought.
