I voted Nov/Dec so I could hide inside on maternity leave during the really bad winter months here!

I picked March/April because I’d rather not be pregnant in the heat of a Texas summer. Since that extends from May-October, you’re not left with a lot of months.

I had my first in the middle of November, and I thought it was perfect. I was on maternity leave for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years which was really nice, and fun to celebrate with a new baby. I also liked having a winter baby since I didn’t want to take her out very much until after she had her first immunizations at 8 weeks old.

My second is due 12/27 this year, and I’m happy to be having another winter baby. I just wish it wasn’t so close to Christmas! I really don’t want to spend Christmas Eve/Christmas in the hospital, and it’s also a sucky birthday to have. Oh well!

I picked the fall because it’s far enough away from holidays, but it’s during the school year, so you get to have cupcakes/have classmates sing happy birthday or whatnot. I had a summer birthday, and always felt left out. (Though I loved it as a I got older.)

I voted for May/June because we might still have snow in early to mid-March, and I wouldn’t want to be trying to get to the hospital during a snow storm! April would be okay, though We usually starts getting decent weather in April.

I picked March/April, because if I got pregnant this cycle that’s when I’d be due, and I just want to be pregnant!

I had my daughter in September, and while it wasn’t too fun being super pregnant in the Florida summer heat, I think it was perfect. She’ll be the oldest in her class, which is a pretty big advantage during the early years. It was also fun to have a brand new baby during the holidays. I also think it will be perfect for birthday pool/beach parties.

I think may/June would be awesome.

3rd trimester would be during cool but nice weather. It’d be nice after baby is born to go outside. First trimester would be in cooler weather which would make it easier to keep under wraps (hello big sweaters, scarves, etc .)  And I can tack my vacation onto my mat leave, so I’d likely get some of the following summer off as well!

I picked Jan/Feb. When your baby is tiny you’re not going out much anyways, so I would rather have that happen during the winter. Plus, when summer rolls around, the baby is old enough to begin to enjoy things and you can tote him/her around to all the various events more easily.

I voted March/April because as a teacher this would roll me through the end of the school year with my maternity leave and then still have summer with full paychecks and time off.

SweetBeets:  I’m a teacher so ideally, when I have a baby, I want to give birth in the spring so I can take the spring off and then have summer too!

I always wanted a summer birthday though, because I thought they had the best birthday parties – pools, beaches, waterparks, etc. I’m a January birthday and trust me, theres nothing fun to do in January, lol.

I picked September/October.  I really wanted a September baby, and we planned it and got lucky, lol!! Due 9/13.  I think it’s perfect timing b/c baby misses the school cut off (9/1) so I get an extra year at home with him, so selfish, I know…but Darling Husband loves that b/c we are having a boy so he’ll be a little bigger than the other kids in his class which he thinks will be great for sports.  And the weather here is gorgeous in September so birthday parties will be fun for our kid, and they will be during the school year…I’m a summer baby and always felt left out at school b/c I never got to celebrate my birthday!  Also, maternity leave is nice b/c it’s still decent out for getting out of the house, and I also have time off during the Holidays (Thanksgiving).

I hated being pregnant in the middle of summer, giving birth Aug 4th in Chicago heat!  I’d prefer March/April so I can recover while it’s just starting to get nice and then enjoy weather outside.  Second choice would be Nov/Dec/Jan to stay inside for the cold months.  My only issue is how big of a pain it is bundling up myself and baby in really cold weather.
