kimmykat024 :  the best part about the dog ice sculptures: they were larger than the actual dogs (German shepherds) and the ice sculptures had ice bowls with the dogs names – these bowls were used to serve shrimp cocktail. 😱😱🍤

hbraerae :  Oh my god. That is all insane, the bit that got me was Jackie Chan though.

OP great idea for a thread. Whilst I have been to many wonderful weddings I have cleary never been to any OTT ones sadly!

I haven’t seen it in person, only in videos (I think it’s popular primarily in China), but the “floating veil” trend is pretty OTT. They suspend the veil on invisible cords, and the bride waits at the end of the aisle, and the veil comes flying to her, and then the cords break off and the veil floats down over the bride’s head.

If you want to see it in action, someone created a montage video of them on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZUxOzhOw5I

I mean, over the top behavior-wise was when the bride pushed the groom in the pool for getting cake on her face.

Over the top and odd activity?  There was a party for the guests during the family’s rehearsal dinner, and they had a literal trout toss.  Like… tossing an actual dead fish into a barrel like it was cornhole.  SO GROSS.

mrsjoseph :  WEIRD. anyone else find the floating veil more “creepy” than stunning? Makes me think of flying snape/Voldemort for some reason.

mrsjoseph:  The last one looked a little spermy.

One of my friends pointed out that the really wealthy will do cloud seeding a few days before their weddings to try and eliminate any chance of rain on their day. I’m obviously NOT that wealthy or well connected to have known, because it poured rain during my entire ceremony.

malayna: Ohhhh! This reminds me of a wedding I’ve heard of where the bride and groom arrived to their ceremony on a raft. My husband gets visions of Lewis and Clark every time someone tells that story!

Our wedding will be at an aquarium I use to volunteer at.  A dolphin will be our ring bearer and the dolphin will do behaviors before and after the cemory so our just after pictures will have a dolphin jumping in the background.  I can’t wait.

wolfeyes :  it’s the scene from the first movie where He who shall not be named is sucking unicorn blood and then sees Harry and flies towards him.
