You ever watch a movie and it ends up being so profoundly upsetting/unsettling for you that you wish you had never watched it at all? I TOTALLY have. Oh lord.
Let’s work together to come up with a good list of movies that NOBODY SHOULD EVER WATCH. Like, if you’re at a party and someone says “oh let’s turn on _____” you know you should probably leave because if you watch it, you’ll never be the same again.
For me, the absolute worst movie I wish I had never watched was The Human Centipede. If you haven’t seen it, DON’T EVER EVER SEE IT. EVER. I don’t even want to describe the plot in any detail because that alone will give me severe case of the willies. Suffice it to say, it took me a full year to be able to go #2 without thinking of that movie. Awful.
I also sort of wish I had never watched the movie Frozen (not the Disney one — the indie one about three people who get trapped on a ski lift over a long weekend). There’s this scene where one of the guys does something stupid and then there are wolves and I had nightmares for like a month after watching it. I described the plot to my boss afterwards and she had nightmares just from me describing it. Do not watch this movie.
What movies do you wish you had never laid eyes on? Why?

@applecat: haha it wasn’t by choice!! it popped up on netflix streaming while my mom was in town to go wedding dress shopping with me two years ago. Darling Husband was like “oh let’s watch this” and then when I demanded we turn it off, my mom was like “no I want to see how it ends!” Haha every time I remember going wedding dress shopping with my mom, I also have to remember watching that goddamned movie. It totally tainted my whole experience

I wish I had never watched Paranormal Activity!
And on a non creepy note, we recently rented This Is The End… Worst effing movie ever.

The Tree of Life. Snoozefest and I don’t think we even ever really figured out what it was about.

I’ve also got to toss the movie Short Bus out there. It’s some indie flick that Netflix recommended for me years ago. My ex and I started watching it, and about 30 seconds into the movie something unspeakably gross happens. My ex and I both lunged for the remote to turn the movie off. But it was too late. The first thirty seconds alone were enough to scar me for life.

A group of our friends get together every week-or-so for what they call ‘Bad Movie Night’. Darling Husband and I have never been, but it’s always intrigued me, lol. The Human Centipede was definitely on the docket… as was Hobo With A Shotgun, etc..

@therealbee: UGH! My friend made a bunch of us go see Hostel. He had seen it before and we were relatively new friends. I seriously almost stopped speaking to him for it. I was like “Really? It’s racist, sexist, homophobic and just bad. If he thought THIS was the movie all his friends should go see, I don’t know if I want to get to know him more.”

Revolutionary Road. Hated it.
I won’t go into details about the scene that ruined the ENTIRE movie for me, but let’s just say that I literally bawled, sobbed, cried uncontrollably. And not because I was moved or happy, or sad…it was HORRID.
It was an AWFUL movie.

Requiem for a Dream. I can go the rest of my life without seeing that crackhead movie again.

@MsJ2theZ: you didn’t like This is the End??!! OMG the scene where Danny McBride and James Franco argue about jerking off into the porno mag is one of the best scenes I have ever seen in any movie of all time. The rest of the movie is so-so at best, but that scene … I love it. We had to rewind and watch it again when we rented that movie! the scene is here if anyone wants to watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTSt4NoMUY8
