I have a .8 ct center and size 5.5 finger! Everyone things it’s at least a carat but nope! I think the oval shape makes it look bigger and the halo helps too! <3

I have a 2.41 carat superideal CBI diamond and some have guessed that it is closer to 3 carats. This is probably because of the cut (really bright and firey) and a size 3.75 finger. I sacrificed color to go up in size.

I think the finger coverage looks even better than a 1.5! Xx

Do you mind if I ask what colour grade your diamond is? It’s stunning Xx

It is worth noting that mobile phones tend to magnify whatever is nearest in a close-up shot. Try it with your face and you’ll find that your nose looks bigger than usual compared with the rest of your face.

When you take a photo of your ring, your stone is nearer and so it looks bigger than it would usually do compared with the ring and your finger.

Of course, what this means is that diamonds photographed and placed on the site look bigger than they do in reality. So, if you are browsing this thread thinking OH MY GOD, MY DIAMOND IS THE SAME SIZE AS HERS BUT IT LOOKS SO TINY IN COMPARISON!!!!!! please do not worry. It’s just an illusion created by mobile phone camera lenses.

deannamarie :  Beautiful!  Absolutely perfect finger coverage!  It looks way larger than 1.6 TCW!  Your finger size and halo really complement the center stone size!

Of course, size doesn’t really matter. What matters is a sense of proportion.

Now that would be very interesting to discuss.

.87 oval but looks bigger probably because of setting and size 4.75 finger

Mine’s a 1.02 centre stone, but it always seems bigger to me. I still love it 8 years later.
