I make my bed your way out of habit but my grandmother does it your FI’s way. She says the printed side is made to be softer and that’s what you want next to your skin.

minxbee :  your fiance is right and that is how I do it. I also DO turn down the bed because otherwise husband doesn’t keep the flat sheet between his body and the duvet which makes me want to strangle him. The duvet doesn’t get washed as often so keep your stinky body parts OFF! That is why the world gave is flat sheets!

We don’t use printed sheets, but I agree with your Fiance.  The “top” goes face down so that when you turn back the covers the pretty side shows.

I think your Fiance is technically correct, but I do it your way.

This is very interesting! I did not realize so many people did it the “other” way (for me the other way is your FI’s way) but it is starting to make sense to me.

I’m with your Fiance on this. I believe, technically, that it is the correct way to do it.

Your FI’s way is the right way and that’s how I do it as well.

i used to think it was supposed to be up as a child… But learned, for decorative purposes, you do the print down if you pull back your blanket and sheet. But at the end of the day it is not often I have people over at my house and specifically in the bedroom so its not a big deal to me. But I do it print down anyways out of habit.
