I always love seeing these because of how much of a drastic difference there can be, and I know everyone loves posting pictures of their dress!
Show me the dress that you originally wanted (and a picture of you in it if you have it) versus the dress that you actually got (and…again you in it)!

Oh I’ll play, at first I wanted this dress by AA, but after trying it on I felt like it made my tummy look big. I dont have a pic of me in it but here it is:
I ended up going with this dress by Maggie Sottero, I think it shows off my curves a little better 🙂 and ive lost about 10 lbs since this pic was taken too

Absolutely gorgeous, Kjeff!! I love that dress on you, it’s so stunning! If I’m not mistaken, that’s the Cindy? I tried it on as well, LOL!
This was the original one I was SURE that I wanted, it was a Lazaro. Beautiful…fairytale, just gorgeous.
And this is what I wound up with. Paloma Blanca 4111 🙂 I absolutely LOVE her, and I don’t think it could be any more opposite from what I originally wanted.

I was always in between this San Patrick Dress, and the one I got. But in honesty I really only had a small choice because of the time scale. I didn’t even get to see th dresses in person until AFTER I made the choice…. The reason I didn’t go for this – which was initially my favourite was because of the bust area. It would NOT fit in my ladies unless there was a lot of extra work done – and I didn’t have the time – and also worried about the cleavage.
In the end I chose Augusta Jones, Juno. And when i went to the shop, although Juno was paid for and was just waiting for me to try it on, I got the option of trying on the other “just in case”. And boy was I glad with my choice! I sometimes still have lovely dreams where I get to wear my dress. The dream last night was my friend asked that all married couples wear their wedding day outfits to her wedding as a good luck charm.

I hardly did ANY research before going dress shopping, so I didn’t have my heart set on anything but really thought I’d want something like this:
Halter, dropped waist, may not white, some diagonal aspects to it …
Obviously, the dress I ended up with was EXACTLY what I pictured:
… a big white strapless ball gown with no diagonal angles at all.

This was the dress I had been dying to try on & wanted to buy..
And this is what I got. Pretty similar, mine is just more simple.

fell in love with Maggie’s Rosemary Leigh but no way am I spending that much (plus it’s discontinued)

I was obsessed with this dress and called until I found a shop that had a sample for me to try on. I was convinced I’d look like Belle (yes, I want to be a Disney Princess, haha). But it didn’t look good on me 🙁
But this is the dress I went with (and have yet to recover from my dress regret):

This was my favorite dress on my inspiration board.
My dress has a similar silhouette, but different detailing.

- Wedding: November 2011 - Florida Aquarium
The dress in my dreams was Alfred Angelo’s Belle… but after trying it on, I just laughed.
So, I chose this dress instead:

- Wedding: July 2012 - The Gables Inn, Santa Rosa, CA
These were my inspiration photos when I started looking:
And this is the progression of the dress I actually bought:
Basically, I liked the tops of #1 & 3, and the skirts of #2 & 4– in the end, I got both 🙂
