We work opposite shifts and have different days off so we have very ittle time together.   The one that is home is taking care of kids so no fun alone hobbies.    We do everything together when we find the time or as a family (how we both prefer it to be)

White water rafting, skiing, horsebck riding, disney world!!! I guess our hobby is vacations.  πŸ˜„

This is an odd “hobby” I know but I love to research real estate. I am always looking up homes for sale all over the country. Some in my price range and some that I will never afford. I like to imagine what I would change in the house, what it might cost, how I would negotiate the selling price; I get really into it. On sundays, sometimes I will even go to open houses in my neighborhood to look at the homes.

Real estate has nothing to do with my job and I am not in the market for buying a home but I get such a thrill out of this strange passtime. If someone asks what I did over the weekend I will leave out the part about the the open houses because they’ll say “Oh, you’re looking to buy a house?” “Well. No.” πŸ˜‚

We spend a lot of time at home together but doing separate hobbies. He plays video games (I do too but less often), I like to read or journal. He also likes to build things, he’s always looking for new projects. We have a lot of shared interests and hobbies though (camping, hiking, snowshoeing, rafting) and we do those together because it’s so much more fun that way.

We both enjoy a lot of the same hobbies (skiing, biking, trail running, hiking, watching football, BBQing, camping/backpacking, birdwatching, home improvement) so we spend a lot of time doing those things together.  We are both previously married and our former spouses didn’t really share our interests, had other hobbies that took up a ton of time, and/or were on totally different internal clocks – so sharing activities didn’t come naturally.  It’s soooo nice to spend time together doing what we both love.  Of course we do different things too – I go to yoga and read, he tinkers around in his shop and watches more TV than me – but all in all, I’m really glad that we share a lot of hobbies and interests.

We both have realized that the whole “opposites attract” thing may be true, but it doesn’t always make for an easy and loving marriage.

During the week, we spend 2-3 evenings apart. I have a horse I ride several times a week, and he has social work outings sometimes. On Wednesdays our social circle has a board game night. When we’re both at home, we usually have different stuff we’ll be doing – he plays computer/video games, and I either read or play around on the internet. We usually have a TV show or two we watch together. Running and going to the gym is another hobby – on weekends we usually run together, but otherwise I work out either during lunch or after work. Other hobbies we do together but less frequently are run trail races, go hiking/camping, or explore in/around the city. But to be honest, between working full time, the horse, exercising every day, and taking care of a dog and cat, that’s most of my time on any given week πŸ˜›

well we are obsessed with our pets so walking the dogs is a must. Hubby plays video games, I sometimes join. I mostly read in my spare time but I also write fanfiction lol and crochet. We both love to cook and I enjoy baking. And TV. We are currently on a law and order Netflix binge. Lol but if I have time to myself it is reality TV or right now hallmark Christmas movies! Lol

I try to work out 3-4 times a week – so those evenings I’m usually out of the house. Hubby usually meets friends one evening.

When Darling Husband has to work funky hours, and goes to sleep at odd times, I tend to fill my time with knitting and reading.

We spend as much time together as possible, but sometimes his schedule makes it really hard.

I like to read, bake and decoupage. We are home together a lot and will watch tv or play cards together. He has video games he likes but his obsessive hobby is hunting. We spend a lot of time camping, hiking and bird watching in the summer. In fall I spend a month and a half pretty much on my own as he is consumed with hunting. He’ll go to bed at 8 and get up at 4, no thank you! I love the alone time as I’m an introvert. Our favorite hobby together is obsessively watching the Boston Red Sox and comparing stats/favorite players tho.

I like jogging, rockclimbing, sewing my own clothes, volunteering with animals, lazing at the beach, watching 1990’s-2000s sitcoms (frasier, friends, seinfeld, will and grace, gilmore girls…)

Darling Husband likes home improvement, playstation, watching sport.

happybridetobe1988 :  with a full time job, house, husband, baby, and dog I don’t have as much free time for other hobbies as I sometimes would like but I read, bullet journal, play board games, and I’ve just gotten into sewing. I can also nerd out over our budget spreadsheets and accounts for way longer than most people would deem normal. I also do fantasy football and play word games on my phone while I commute or pump at work.
