I know that lots of other forum websites offer certain features that make said forums more appealing to visitors. Reddit, for instance, has the ability to downvote comments that may be unhelpful to the majority. This also provides users the ability to disagree without making a comment to derail the thread.
Other forum sites allow users to ignore or block users with whom they strongly disagree on a consistent basis. In my observation, this makes things significantly more civil and calm, as users don’t have to interact with those they may find consistently irritating.
Overall, I really do enjoy this site; however, I don’t have an “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mindframe. I don’t foresee any changes or additions being made to this site (even the small things such as pop ups and redirects have yet to be fully resolved), but just for fun…what do you think would add to user enjoyment on Weddingbee?

happiekrappie : I might be in the minority but Reddit’s format drives me BONKERS. I feel like I can’t follow the conversation because it’s out of order and indenting and just…gah. It’s beyond my brain.

I’d like to be notified when people reply directly to me in a forum. Unless there’s a way to enable that that I’m unaware of. Cause sometimes I say something in a forum and then never revisit it, meanwhile a few people responded directly to me.

Delete all in the private message box. I’d also one day like my post count to be fixed so I can have one million posts

LilliV : oh no I totally hate reddit’s format, as well. but I do like the option to downvote people into oblivion…the most recent controversial thread here has me wishing we had that option here.
bookends : I agree! I wish there were a way to select to be notified when someone replies to you in a thread that is not your own. Currently, you’ve only got the option to get notifications all or nothing. That can be overwhelming when you’re the OP, so that’s why my notifications are off. It’d be nice to be able to choose!

I wish they would have a like, love, happy ect buttons like fb does. I like to see little emoji’s lol.

Oh a gif bar like iMessages and Twitter has.
And for the love of god, DARK MODE.

I think the ability to block people you consistently disagree with/disagrees with you would be really helpful!

I want the weddingbee logo bar to not be fixed/scroll down the page. I don’t need the world to know I’m screwing around on a forum instead of doing something legitimate with my time.

I dont like the downvotes, but I also don’t really like the upvotes lol.
The biggest thing I’d appreciate:
-A quote box to see what message people are quoting/replying to
-General tagging. Currently you can only “tag” people if they reply to the thread.
-No deleted threads! Close commenting, but I hate deleted threads. Even if I can find them 99% of time in cache it’s not the same.

sweetiemermaid : I’ve been wishing we had that option for a while now…your thread re-solidified that desire lol
coffeebean87 : that’s a very simple ask!!!
oooh…another thing I wish we had was a “keep me logged in” option!

Also, the substitutions for acronyms feature drives me insane. If I see one more post about someone worrying they’ve caught a Save The Date from an anonymous hookup or whether their Brides Maids are the right consistency….

ecrisrien : yeah…very rarely do I mean to call someone or something a “ducking butch” 😂😂😂
I’m joking (mostly)
