I was invited to a pig roast this weekend and as I’m endlessly searching pinterest for any idea and coming up short, I figured this might be a good place to see what other people bring to these types of gatherings!
What are your “go-to” dishes to bring to outdoor parties?
Two years ago I took “slutty brownies” and last year Future Mother-In-Law and I went together and made a fruit salad with a watermelon carved into a pig. Trying to live up to the high expectations I set! Haha

Garlic bow tie salad:
cooked and cooled bow tie pasta
fresh minced garlic
dried parsley flakes
shredded Parmesan cheese
for the dressing- olive oil and mayo- mix until well blended, a creamy consistency; add more of either to get it there.
I don’t have exact measurements just because the amount I make varies greatly. You could also add chicken too, I don’t add it typically but it is good! This salad is a big hit at BBQs.

usually drinks and/or desserts because they are the simplest

Berry mix with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries–it looks beautiful and it’s delicious!
Deviled eggs–because all potlucks need deviled eggs

I’m a terrible cook, so my go-to is cream cheese fruit dip, with fruit of course.

Marinated kale salad
Caprese skewers (I mean who doesn’t like these)
Watermelon with bail or minted chopped up
I also love to make an intense cheese plate

Chili! (As long as there’s a hookup for a crock pot!)
Chili is a summer thing in my part of Wisconsin for whatever reason.

Tiramisu from the local bakery.

Maple rice krispy treats! Mostly because it makes a huge batch so I only make them for big parties and everyone loves them. Snickerdoodles or chocolate chip cookies, sometimes cupcakes. If it’s a place where I can cook I will make wontons or cheese puffs.

HA those pig biscuits are so adorable!
All of these ideas sound good! I’m trying to find something that requires minimal effort this year haha

I always bring lumpia (Filipino spring rolls). Easy to make and always a hit.

Well, ended up running out of time that day and doctored up some boxed brownies haha. They were a hit though! I’ll have to remember all or these suggestions for next year!
