Tapioca pudding. It looks like there are fish eyes in it and the texture grosses me out. Yuck! Also, anything from Burger King. I came down with the WORST bout of diarrhea I have ever experienced the last time I ate at Burger King.

Onions. Why do people insist on putting them in EVERYTHING?!)

Mustard. I have had a really yummy spicy german mustard though.

Lobster. I really do not understand why everyone seems to think its so yummy and fancy. It smells like feet and tastes even worse.

Shrimp. I really have no explaination for this. I loved shrimp as a kid, but just the thought of it now makes me gag.

Peanut butter. Its just gross. I hate the taste, I hate the smell, I hate how thick it is. Its just gross.

Celery. I f-ing HATE celery, like to the point it makes me angry.

Rasins; nothing more than humiliated grapes. Rasins that disguise themselves as chocolate chips in oatmeal cookies are the main reason that I have trust issues.

Most of the foods I “hate” I refuse to try lol. Drives my husband crazy.

Cottage cheese. Ick.

Jelly (any flavor). Weird texture.

Really any seafood except some shrimp/lobster. I can handle some Salmon if it’s cooked perfectly, but otherwise, no.

Sweet potatoes. Think they’re pretty when mashed, but hate the taste.

White chocolate.

Warm pickles. I LOVE pickles (not dill), but cannot stand them on burgers.

I’m pretty picky at times. I’m sure there is a lot more.

@PoppyH:  Agreed. Celery tastes like dirt to me. People always tell me to put peanut butter on it and it’s “great”. Why would I want my delicious creamy peanut butter covering food that tastes like dirt??

@MsGolightly:  I HATE linguine alfredo. Most disgusting food ever invented. I think this because of an unfortunate incident while camping in Maine involving a restaurant that made it with something that tasted horrifying/foul– maybe there was cilantro in it? Barf.

I also hate spanakopita. URGGGHHHH. GROSS. My college dining hall made it; that was the first time I’d ever eaten it and I thought something with those ingredients would be yummy, but no, like many other things they made, it was disgusting. I still can’t eat it without it turning my stomach, and unfortunately my Future Mother-In-Law loves making it for fancy holiday meals so I am forced to eat it because she gets super insulted if I don’t!

Also pork. I can eat bacon but any other form of pork I can’t deal with!!

Oh dear, reading the thread reminded me of other things I can’t stand. Cilantro is one of them! Forgot the others while editing this. . . .

@MarriedToMyWork:  I am glad there is someone else who thinks alfredo is appalling. 

@icanhearyousmile:  I agree with you about calamari. Eeew rough leathery sandy fishy tentacles. BLAAHHHH!!!!

@orchidblooms:  I see I am also not the only one who hates spinach pie/spanakopita– it’s so tru that the ingredients are nice, but the combo is inedible.

@Andthepupmakes3:  Oh wow. I feel like I hate many foods now, but you have reminded me of a dislike of mine that is even stronger than my aversion to cilantro– I cannot bear anything licorice flavored.

And now I sound like the pickiest person ever. :/

@MsGolightly:  Carrots. I hate them so much, that my parents say I wouldn’t even eat the mashed up ones as a baby. They are super gross.





Canteloupe, and pretty much any other melons like honeydew.

Rosemary. I can tell when it’s in my food even if it’s less than a pinch of it.

Wine. I don’t get the obsession people have with wine. I think it’s gross, so does FH and we’re thinking of not having it at the wedding.

@icanhearyousmile:  You took the words right out of my mouth for the sweet potatoes!  I tried so hard to like them, but I just can’t!

Also, I HATE bananas, ham, mustard, bacon (yes, you read that right… love the smell, hate the taste), zucchini and brussel sprouts (I actually threw up both as a child).  And the only alcohol I like is vodka.  I’m odd, also I could probably make this list a lot longer.

I hate beets! When I was 16 I worked in a restaurant and often had salad bar duty. So I’d end up going home smelling like beets, I’ve never even tried them but just beacuse of that I can’t take it!

I also can’t/will never again drink gin simply because of a bad early college days experience Sealed

Ranch dressing (It makes me gag if I even smell or somehow touch it. I hated the taste and smell to begin with, but I had a bad experience working in a daycare and watching young children use their carrot sticks as utensils to eat straight up Ranch dressing. It disgusted me and stuck with me! LOL)

Mayo (When I eat it, I literally feel like I’m eating pure fat, but I’ll eat it if I have to)

Mustard (don’t like the taste)

Olives (most disgusting taste ever)

Celery (tastes gross and the stringy texture just makes it unpleasant to eat)

Bleu cheese (tastes and smells gross)

Cottage cheese (the texture freaks me out… can’t even remember what it tastes like)

Rice pudding and tapioca pudding (gross texture)

Buffalo sauce (I hate spicy food and the smell of it just turns me off)

Bubblegum (the taste and smell have always grossed me out, since I was a kid)

Artichokes (…they just weird me out)

Mushrooms (they’re slimy and they don’t taste particularly pleasant)

Sauerkraut! (Unfortunately, my family eats it every year on New Year’s Day for good luck — PA Dutch tradition — but I find the smell repulsive)

Raw onion (just too strong; I love cooked onion!)

Beer (I’ve tried to like it. I really have.  And I just don’t! I can’t even drink more than a few sips of it without feeling sick to my stomach. It just tastes like bitter, carbonated water to me!)

And when I order lo mein from a Chinese restaurant, I pick out most of the cabbage and all the gross green vegetables in it, whatever they are… haha!


…wow, I am a SUPER picky eater! XD I promise there are lots of foods that I really do love!

I don’t like most condiments of sauces making my food wet. I’m super picky. 

My fiancé also loves to snack on seaweed which smells absolutely vile, I don’t know how he can put it in his mouth. Yuck. I have to be at least 10 feet away when he eats that crap.

Okra. I absolutely hate okra, since it produces a viscous texture that’s hard to swallow.  I understand that there are different cooking methods to reduce the sliminess but…no, just no.
