Let me start by saying this is such a fucn post!!!!
And now, i promise I am not 5 years old. My favorite colors are pink and purple. I prefer darker shades of most colors, for clothing, for their slimming benefits. I usually wear more neutrals- black, browns, grays (especially charcoal), navy. For pinks, I lean more toward darker pinks and purples, subdued shades- can be dark or light, just not bright.
I have historicallly avoided gold like the plague, in clothing and in all jewelry and accessories. i have found purses that I love except for gold toned hardware, and left the poor thing behind at the store!
As for seasons, I HATE winter/cold/snow with a PASSION. I love teh holidays, and seeing my family even more than usual because of them, but the whole winter thing really gets me down…
WEDDING: ready for this? Ivory, nude, blush, gold! WHAAAAAATTT?!?!?! And we’re getting marrried in january LOL…. Here’s what happened- started out thinking january because of all the great tropical vacation deals in teh third week. I usually go on vacation every january, and it’s nice to have something to look forward to after the post-holiday slump. So, we thought, why not extend that to our family and friends and give eeveryone something awesomely epic to look forward to?!?!
Then, colors. We started out with burgundy, navy, and warm metallics….. then all the moms spontaneously ended up with navy dresses without knowing they were our colors. so we removed navy. then we added blush because it was feeling all kind of masculine… then we removed burgundy because we wanted it to feel softer. this wal also all influenced by our venue choice, and included vs extra cost linen colors lol… the “theme” of the wedding has morphed into a glitzy/luxe/gilded sort of thing
ANYWAY, that’s our story. my Maid/Matron of Honor and JrBM are welcome to select dresses in any of those colors, as well as burgundy or any other complimentary colors (they look at eggplant and plum quite a bit too). the best man and my groom are wearing matching three-piece navy suits
