My parents came home from a party, were kinda tipsy, leaned on each other in the hallway and said, “Let’s get married.”  (So they say.)

My husband and I were having a fight about…um…something about where to eat our sandwiches.  We were in New Orleans and it was our last day there.  OH I KNOW.  He has thing this where he doesn’t care about checking out on time.  I’m paranoid they’ll charge us for another night if we’re not out of there on time!  I’d gotten sandwiches and beer and wanted to eat them in the courtyard, and he was putting up a fuss.  FINALLY he came down, and we ate, and then he was like, “close your eyes” and put the ring in front of me and said…NOTHING.  So I’d say that’s pretty low key.  I had to be like, “What’s this?” in order for him to ASK ME TO MARRY HIM.  UGH.  Lol.

How about non-proposals? Lol

my husband never proPosed. Originally we didn’t want to get married, then we had a conversation and decided we did. We had been together many years and had a son already. So that was that, be picked out a ring and i got it a couple weeks later, I got the ring because it was delivered to my door (ordered online) and I was home at the time. I texted him and asked if I could open it, and he said yes.

I think proposal stories are nice, but I don’t really care about all that. to me, it’s a decision between two people.

My Father-In-Law was sitting on the couch with Mother-In-Law, and pulled out a ring. When she started FREAKING out, he said (totally deadpan) “Oh… Do you want this?”

Mine was in my work hotel room after I had just gotten back from a hot dirty 12-hour day of field work, and I was whining about being hungry and cranky and how we had to go to dinner NOW…  He did get down on one knee next to the bed though, haha.

We laugh about how, because hotel rooms are so generic, every hotel room we ever stay in will remind us of the proposal!

@FortiesFlare:  Um, no, if he doesn’t propose by riding a unicorn down a rainbow, it doesn’t COUNT.

We knew for months we wanted to get married. We ordered the ring online. Ring came and that was that. No discussion needed LOL.

He proposed after we got home from breakfast at Denny’s with my parents and his dad.  Everytime someone asks me “Did you know he was going to propose??” I always respond “No!! Who gets proposed to after breakfast at Dennys?!?”

He proposed to me in our garage, he put the ring inside the fridge and was paranoid I would accidentally do something to it so he just dropped to one knee, opened the fridge and handed me a ring box! Meanwhile, I am eating ice cream out of a gallon bucket. Some girls on this site would literally need counseling if their SO’s proposed to them as low key as mine did haha.

I was sitting on his bed redoing my makeup in shorts and a tee (we were going out to dinner) and he comes in wearing his shorts and no shirt, got down on one knee and asked. Loved it!

I love stories like these it just so cute and like the couple. Mines was sweet, cheesy and a bit low key. Just came form my midterms and got a A and Fiance & I just wanted to chill by him that day. I fell asleep and woke up to sparkle playing. When it was over and the credits were playing he picks me up slow dances and had a little banter.

Fiance: So is this how we ga slow dance at our wedding

Me: you want to marry me aye?

Fiance: Why did you ask me that?

Me: because the minute you sign on the line you stuck

Fiance: (turns around goes in draw and pulls out ring that he said he hasn’t start makign pyaments on because of backed up bills) Ok does this show I’m serious?

Me: you jerk (smacks his chest) you lied to me

Fiance: So? Will you be my wife

Me: (ugly cries as head bobs up & down) YES!

He didn’t go down on 1 knee, he din’t take me anywhere….just a random friday afternoon he & I in chill clothes and totally perfect.

@BrandNewBride:  When I read yours I laughed out I could picture it him all chill and your Mother-In-Law going nuts on the couch

Lol! my first proposal wasn’t really a proposal at all. We ordered the ring together, it arrived with a load of other mail that I grabbed on the way out the door to the theatre. After the theatre I said to him, “oh I think my ring arrived today.” And he said, “oh cool. Put it on then!” Haha! We never did get married

I’m hoping to have a slightly better proposal this time round….
