These are the best stories!

Fiance had been making payments on my ring, but I didn’t know when he would be able to pay it off. After running errands one day he joked that he had enough money to pay off the ring, so I told him to go do it. We had my daughters with us (they were oblivious to the convo) and he said, really? I said yes and called my mom to ask her to watch the girls while we ran another errand. We walked into the jewelry store together and I watched them box it up – even resisted the urge to put it on before it was official. We left the mall giggling and got in the car. I thought he was going to do it in the mall parking lot under a street light, but he went to a fountain that is in the same area as the mall.

We walked around the little lake where the fountain is and sat on a rock. I asked him how the weather was, because we were both just sitting there. Then he got down on one knee and proposed with the ducks/geese for an audience.

I had a semi elaborate semi low-key proposal.  On the one hand we went all the way to Jerusalem and had the most amazing date on David’s Tower, went to see the light show (amazing!) and there was this amazing medieval fair so there were fire dancers and a ton of stuff going on *best night of my life* however, due to an outside factor we ended up having a small argument afterwards.  So… two days later he asked again whilst he kneeled down in my bathroom floor whilst I was in my dressing gown and PJs.  Both were completely different and both were completely perfect and I obviously said yes… both times.

@FleeSircus:

I thought I had a low-key proposal but obviously not! LOL. We were in BC for a friend’s wedding and asked me to go for a drive with him. He stopped at this dead end and pulled out the ring. He didn’t ask, or say anything I just took the ring and started telling everyone.

A big proposal wasn’t needed after 11.5 years though!

Okay…..Just in time for Valentine’s Day…..

We were in a LDR. We were on the phone. He said “I think we should get married. Will you marry me”? I said “I think we should too. yes”. The end.

Sorry girls, I win.

He proposed kneeling in a melting snow puddle in our mudroom with a $29k custom ring. You would think he would have planned a more extravagant proposal lol. But I loved it.

It was New Years day and we were both hung over.

He had PLENTY of opportunity that night; that magical, magical night, but no. He thought it would be better the next day.

@peachacid:  My dad insists he was just kneeling down to tie his shoelace and was about to suggest going to the pub. He started to say “I propose…” and mum got the wrong idea.

We were sitting on the couch watching tv and I turned and looked at him and said, “so, are we gonna do this thing or not?” Haha. He knew exactly what I was talking about and said “sure” 🙂

@FleeSircus:  I 100% cannot even remember my proposal. It is a running joke in my family about whether I really said yes or not. Apparently it was really romantic or so I am told. Everytime my husband tells the story the details get grander! The next addition probably will be a rainbow shitting unicorn bringing me my ring.

And I wasn’t drunk, I was soooo ill and strung out on weird Thai medicine.

It was the middle of the week a Tuesday evening. I was upset with him for something-don’t remember now. We were tired and were in bed early-like 8:30. I went out to get some water and he came back in, down on one knee with one of my favorite songs playing. I didn’t even say yes until about an hour later I was so happy I forgot to say something!

Haha these stories are awesome. Three cheers for low-key proposals! Ours was a Sunday morning and I was in a recliner with only sweatpants and a sports bra on. He just dropped to one knee and asked. He was going for the surprise factor and definitely succeeded. But after I said yes I said, “Let me at least put a shirt on!”
