3D hurts my head, is more expensive, and is almost always hugely unecessary and gimicky. There are also very few movies that do it well. 99.9% of the time I prefer 2D.

@BookishBelle:  I agree with all of that. I really hate the gimmicky things they do for 3d movies.

I only liked Avatar in 3D. I think that one was necessary. Otherwise, not so much.

@BookishBelle:  3D hurts my head too. We have a 3D TV at home and my Fiance just loves it. I tell him to watch his weird, headache inducing movies by himself. We don’t actually go to the theatre as we prefer to watch movies at home, but the bigger screen makes the headaches worse.

I think when they come out with the technology where you don’t have to wear the stupid glasses and can just look at the screen and see 3D, it will help. I feel like the glasses make everything worse.

3D gives me a headache. I find the 2D experience much more enjoyable, and it costs less. I’d rather just watch a movie at home though.

3D makes me sick. I literally get motion sickness from it. 2D for me!

I actually read a study once that showed 3D can hurt kids…eyes? brain? development? I obviously don’t really remember the study well other than that the takeaway was that 3D is detrimental, at least to children, which is awful because kids’ movies are the most often done in 3D!

@RoyalLime:  Avatar was basically the one movie I was talking about when I said very few movies do it well 🙂

2D for sure.  I really don’t get the 3D hype.

2d. I feel cross-eyed when watching 3d movies. But if it’s a movie I really want to see and it’s in 3d, I’ll definitely see it.

I like some 3D movies like Avatar, but I think that’s because Avatar’s effects were very immersive.  With other movies, the 3D effects seem more like an afterthought and it’s not worth the extra money to me.  I’ll pretty much always opt for the 2D version at the movies.

2D… I hate having to wear those 3D glasses, they make my eyes hurt.

I literally cannot see 3D movies, all I see is blurriness and get a headache, but I don’t even like going to the movies much. Fiance loves 3D movies, hes all about the superhero ones in 3D, at least I don’t feel bad about not going with him to see them.
