For giggles: what you do you consider "newly wed"?

Personally I would describe the newly wed stage as up to 6months, maybe a year, but definitely not 2.

I supposed 2 years is still newlywed in a sense though.

I think it’s one of those relative terms. I’ve been married 3 years and I would not consider us newlyweds. However when talking to a couple who’s been married 30 years, we would be newlyweds in comparison.

sassyspoonicus :  1 year usually. But,My parents have been married for nearly 30 years and they still joke around and horseplay like newlyweds, so there’s that. Take it as a compliment! xoxo

I’d always thought “newlywed” was for the first year. After that you’re just an old married couple lol

The first year.  DH and I have been married now for 9 months now and I think we still have some newlywed type moments- especially when we are travelling or doing something special like a going out for a fancy meal.

I definitely always considered it 1 year and under. Though I think it’s more behaviour, like some people are saying. Kind of like the “honeymoon phase” in dating.

sassyspoonicus :  My husband and I have been married for a year (and a month) and we’re still called newlyweds all the time… I would say after a full year, it’s not brand new anymore. It did fly by, though! 🙂
