I live 42 miles from my office.  It can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours to drive according to weather/traffic.  Once we renovate the DH’s original house and move into it I’ll be about 25 miles closer.

my house was 15 miles from the office (but the commute could take 45+ minutes).

I moved to my husband’s townhone, 50 miles from the office, the commute is about an hour long, most days.

We chose his home for many factors; we love the area, the taxes are half of what mine were.

NJ traffic can be notorious, so you never know what may happen, but it is, what it is!
Mass transit is non-existant within NJ, so you just learn creative ways to get around the  mess.

My last commute was 33 miles one way so I don’t see 24 as bad.  After the move it dropped drastically to 12 miles.

Our house is 5.5 miles from DH’s work (I work at home).  We bought a smaller, older house in a more convenient location.

Currently live approx 40 miles from work on a good day with NO traffic takes me 35 mins to get here but usually it takes 1hr- 1hr 15 mins.  On a bad day it can take over 2 hours but it’s the location where we live. We are looking at houses that are within a 15 mile radius of our current home so I am hoping the commute won’t get much worse.  It really sux spending 2 hours of your day every day in a car in traffic!!!  Darling Husband wants me to consider moving farther away and I am putting my foot down on a daily basis…. long commutes drain your life… IMO

I think miles are less important thean TIME. I’m only 16 miles from my work (have to cross the bay bridge, which is 8 of those miles) which in theory should only take about 20-25 mins. It takes 45 mins-1hr 30 mins in rush hour. Thank goodness I can take public transit instead!

Less than 5 miles for us.  It takes me about 7 minutes from our front door to work and Darling Husband is about 10 minutes (in a different direction).
