Every book I read on cosleeping claims to address this topic, but they don’t really! I’ve read that they put the baby in another room for the first couple hours of the night and then move him/her back into the parents room, or to put baby to bed first, and do it on the couch or whatever lol but that is weird to me, especially since the couch is in the living room, with windows lol
How do you moms do it?

We have her in a bassinett beside our bed. So far, we just do it with her in the room if it’s nighttime or we go to another room.LOL If it’s night we stay in the bedroom and stay quiet! I thought it’d be weird, but doesn’t bother me or SO. She sleeps like a log.
Now daytime is a different story since she is staying awake longer.

At about 3 months, we started putting Addie in her crib for the first few hours of the night, and then I’d go get her when we were ready to actually go to sleep. That way, we had access to our bedroom even after her bedtime (which was like 6 pm for quite a while) to hang out, watch tv, clean, etc…

We started getting creative. I usually grabbed a shower mid-day when her dad came home for lunch, and she usually napped then, so when my shower was done he’d sneak into the bathroom for a quickie.
In the evenings she would nap in her bassinet in the living room while I was cleaning up and we usually ended up on the couch.
And sometimes he’d just wait until she fell asleep and then very carefully move her to the crib, then bring her back when we were done.
It got harder when she got older. Fewer naps during the day, more inclined to wake up if moved at night. In fact, the reason I moved her from my bed to her own bed (she was 2) was because my current SO was getting a bit annoyed at always being cockblocked by a toddler, lol. Truthfully, I was too, so I didn’t mind too much!
