Bring your dress home if you can!!!
I went in to the bridal salon today to get an alterartions quote and decided to bring home my dress since I’ve been dealing with dress regret/envy. I’m sooooo glad I brought it home because I seriously couldn’t be happier with my dress now. Just having it in the house makes it more real and more “my own”, instead of some random dress sitting at the salon. I also love knowing that if I start to doubt my choice I can walk into the other room, unzip the bag, stare in awe at my beautiful dress and feel the regret/envy melt away.
Best. decision. ever!
I even gave my pretty a little photoshoot 😉

your dress is gorgeous! I agree with you 100. about bringing it home. I would have, but I love with my fiance and he likes to peek (; it’s safer there! But I actually work at the bridal boutique Inpurchased it in, so I can hug it whenever I want which is nice!

@princess-pea: yeah I live with my Fiance too but he’s super traditional about the whole not seeing the dress thing so he won’t peek…like a good boy lol. That’s awesome that you work there and get to see it whenever you want!

Yes, exactly! My wedding’s over a year away but I’ve had my dress in my closet for months. I LOVE being able to take her out and play! Actually… I should stop doing that. I’ve noticed the hem’s been picking up a lot of carpet dust and hair strands and whatnot. Or I should just vacuum more. 😉

hey ladies, what do you store your dresses in? Anything special? When my dress comes in, its still going to be 8 months away from my wedding and wanted to know what the best way to preserve it until the big day? Also in a way that does not wrinkle it, I worry about that too

@Meant2bMrsC: mine is in the bag the bridal salon out it in. That’s how they store them so I figure its good for me too lol. My dress is textured so I don’t have to worry about wrinkles but I doubt there’s a good way to store it in a bag without it getting wrinkled. Can you just get it steamed and pressed right before the wedding?

I actually did bring mine home because the salon i purchased it at relocated…it didn’t help me in the end, although it did help me put off buying another for about 6 months lol
I do think having it at home helps though because you can remind yourself what it looks like. I’m bringing the one im wearing on the big day home in a few weeks, can’t wait! 🙂
btw your dress is sooooooooo pretty!!

@Nurse_Bee: yeah, I guess I should have said it’s not a guarantee but I thought some girls might find it helpful. It really helped with me. Thanks for the compliments by the way 🙂
@AlwaysSunny: Thank you! I do…they aren’t that great because you can’t see the details all that well but I can post one for you 🙂

I totally agree – I was feeling unsure about my dress so when Fiance wasn’t around I put the dress on and took some more flattering pictures. I feel so much better now!

@Meant2bMrsC: I bought a cloth/breathable fabric bag off Amazon to store my dress in. Mine came in a plastic bag and that’s supposedly bad for the dress since it can’t circulate. As long as your dress is able to breathe it should be fine. Also I recommend taking it out of the bag and fluffing it once in a while so that wrinkles and folds don’t set.
