I think it depends on your dress.  Sleek and/or mermaid dresses just WANT heels.  I had a big ouffy ballgown so never questioned wearing flats – you couldn’t see them anyway.

I planned on wearing exactly 2″ heels because my fiance isn’t much taller than me and I love the look of heels and all the wedding pictures showing the bride lifting up her dress to reveal colored heels.  The bridal boutique that ordered my dress solved my problem for me unfortunately. They ordered the dress knowing that I would not wear more than 2 inches but it came in just the right length for flats. Fortunately I found a nice pair of Ivanka Trump flats that have lace and a bow which work with my dress. http://www.zappos.com/ivanka-trump-cushion2-black

I settled with cute!

I loved my flats – but i’m 6’1″ and never wear heels. I think flats can be really sophisticated – they can have cut outs, gorgeous detailing, crystals.

Oh geez. I have a tight mermaid dress and am planning to wear flats because my Fiance is only a couple inches taller than me. Is that a mistake? I almost never wear heels, and I want to be able to dance all night without feeling uncomfortable. Is it really a big deal?

I felt the same way! I think I do walk differently in flats than in heels but I have to stick with heels since Fiance are the same height. I got a pair of peep toe flats from rocketdog and feel like I should at a BBQ and not my wedding. But then, I found a pair of open sandles that are silver and look awesome!! For some reason, they click when I walk so it sounds like I’m wearing heels. Those are the winners!

i plan to wear flats but I always wear flats so I’m good with it. I actually feel sexier in flats because I’m more comfortable and confident in them. Especially since my dress is long dress. If i was wearing a tea-length dress then I would want to wear heels.
