There will be about 7 kids at my wedding between 2 and 13. I’ve come up with a list of things to put in activity buckets for them. Do you think it’s enough? Should I include stuff for the 13 year old? She’s more likey to hang out with the little ones, so I figured I’d just include her, but don’t want to offend you know?
Here’s the list:
I Spy with Camera, Word Find, Word Scramble, Maze, Dots game, Tic-Tac-Toe, glow sticks, Silly Bands, Dress up stuff (tiara, boa, glasses, ect.).
I don’t want markers or crayons because frankly I don’t trust some of the kids not to draw on the walls and I don’t want to lose our deposit.
So what do you think? Add more stuff? Include the 13 year old?

hmmmmm… what about cheapo toys and puzzles? like dollar store/tree stuff?
I’d definitely include the 13 year old, maybe get him/her older stuff that he/she would enjoy.
I know you can get crayola crayons or markers (can’t remember which) that only write on the crayola paper. That would be a great option, if you willing to pay the cost of it… I haven’t priced it, but, well, it IS crayola, lol.
other than that, I’d say you’ve got a great selection!!!

will they be hanging out in the recpetion hall? or did you book them a little side room?
if they are in a seperate room what about a movie- or a wii (if you have one or know someone who has one)
we are setting this stuff up in an extra hotel room with pizzas for the kids that will be in attendance – they are welcome to come to the reception after dinner has ended and dancing has begun

Unfortunately we’re not in a hotel and we only have the one room. I was going to put the buckets on the escort card table with a sticker that had their table assignment… OR if there’s room (crosses fingers) have an extra table set up just for the kids to hang out at after they’ve had dinner at their parent’s tables…

@Misslizzy: *giggle* kick ’em outside! lol, sorry, couldn’t resist! but what you’ve got planned is GREAT!
Our wedding will have LOTS of kids (mostly cause my two nephews are gonna be there and we have two of our own, and my FI’s sister has three kids….) and it’s going to be an outside wedding so the kids can run rampant… more or less, lol.

I’m planning to do something similar! We just have one big room but I’m borrowing a kid-sized table from our church’s preschool classroom and setting up some color activities, juice boxes, animal crackers, etc that they can go crazy with while their parents have fun! We’re expecting a big turnout though…like 300+ people with potential for 30-40 kids under 12… WHOA.
