I finally got pricing back from my florist today, save for any last minute adjustments should ‘better’ flowers be cheaper that week (come ONNNNNNNN peonies… I know this could be your week!).
We got a great deal because I am the weddings sales manager for the resort I work at, so it would be pretty sad if I had silk flowers 🙂 and the florist is sort of related to Fiance… we live ina small town and 85% of our guest list is from here and knows the florist. So if she couldn’t make it work for us, I’m sure there’d be ‘talk’.
I never gave her an exact number for a budget – only told her we needed her help to make it low enough that silks weren’t an option.
My bouquet of hydrangeas, carnations, gerberas, billy balls and some other weirdo thing I don’t remember – $89
2 Bridesmaid bouquets of hydrangeas and gerberas – $59
5 boutonnieres of something or other – with FIs having some of everything from my bouquet – $55
5 mothers corsages (long story!) $90
13 tables consisting of a center vase of hydrangeas & carnations surrounded by 3 bud vases with gerberas – $225 for all the center vases and $97.50 for the bud vases.
$25 for additional gerberas to use in cocktail reception vases
Totals $674.50 plus tax and a small delivery. I know the hydrangeas for the centerpieces are at her cost and I found it to be quite reasonable (I was expecting twice that!)
We are providing all the vases (cost me less than $100 at IKEA and I’m fairly certain I can sell them to work after the wedding).
I send the info to my mom feeling pretty proud of myself for getting a reasonable price for everything.
Mom comes back with “wow… that seems pretty high.”
The only thing that seems high to me is the bouts, but everything else (especially my bouquet and the centerpieces) seems SOOOOO awesomely reasonable I just don’t understand what my mom is thinking.
They’re flowers. They cost money.
Even if we did silks – the centerpieces wouldn’t be much less than that.
I’m feeling like I got a good deal… what do you think?
