Lose weight right before your wedding?? I’ve always heard you drop weight from stress right before.. which sounds horrible, because at that point your dress is altered to fit you perfectly.. if you lose noticable weight it’ll change the fit of the dress. I’m a little worried about this. I am not trying to lose weight for my wedding, I’m trying to maintain exactly where I am now, because my dress fits like a glove (besides the length)..
So did you lose weight right before, and did it become an issue with fit of your dress?

Yep, I lost 8 pounds over the two weeks before. A sash solved my problem with my dress being too big in the waist.

Yes I lost about 7 pounds within the two weeks before my wedding. Thankfully I had a corset so the difference didn’t change the way my dress fit, I just had it laced tighter.

I gain when I’m stressed not lose…I gained 5 lbs in the few weeks leading up to the wedding. My dress was already at my parents so I scheduled one of those body wrap things thinking it wouldn’t fit, but it fit great

I probably lost 2-3 pounds in the 2-3 days before the wedding- mainly because I had schedued myself so tightly that I didn’t have time to eat!
I had my last fitting just a week before the wedding and when they zipped it up it was really snug (I wanted it snug!)…so those last few pounds made me feel a little more comfortable without the dress becoming loose anywhere.

I did which a) surprised me and b) worked out really well. When I did my final fitting (about a month before the wedding) my dress was just a wee-bit too tight. The seamstress and I discussed it, and she said she wasn’t comfortable letting it out any because in her experience, brides nearly ALWAYS loose a bit of weight before their wedding. I’m glad I listened; I lost about 7-8 pounds and my dress ended up fitting perfectly! (and then I promptly gained that weight back post-wedding, dang it!)

Nope. I havent really fluctuated more than 3-5 lbs since highschool. I dont every see any physical difference either. I also do get stressed easily and was not stressed about the wedding at all.

Yes, I lost weight before the wedding, including the week before, after my final alteration. My dress was a bit too loose as a result.

Yep! like 2-3lbs. Didn’t help that I worked out the morning of.

Yes, I lost about 8 lbs the week before the wedding. I tried really hard to eat well but I could tell I was dropping weight and then the 3-4 days before the wedding my anxiety was through the roof and I was unable to eat. My dress definitely felt bigger on me than it did when I had my last fitting but it had an inner corset so that kept it tight.

I’m a high stress person and tend to lose when I am highly stressed. I wasn’t about my wedding, so my weight stayed the same.

Yes, but I was trying. I didn’t have carbs and stopped drinking wine. I would just stop, breathe and take some time for yourself when you feel stressed. It’s not worth making yourself sick/ unhappy/stressed over

I gained like 5 lbs, I wish stress made me loose weight, lol

Wow. I’m really curious to see what happens to me.. if I lose 7-8 like some of you, I think I’ll be screwed.. my dress is zip up, no corset to help, no sash to tie tighter.. I guess if I notice I’m dropping a few the week before I’ll have to eat a few more cheeseburgers 😉

Heavens, no. I’m a fat kid who loves food and cookies and pizza are emotional blankies for me. I was my highest weight since losing a TON of weight 7 years ago on my wedding day. Oh well.
