@becleeham:  I had one relative save it and remade it into a piece of jewelry for her daughter. My other aunt just traded it in when she did the upgrade. My Fi is already talking about upgrading my ring and I told him NO because it has way to much sentimental value to think of trading it in especially right now!

I upgraded my e-ring about a year ago. I wasn’t crazy about the first ring, so I haven’t done anything with it, it’s just sitting in my jewelry box 🙁

But I have heard of people making it into a necklace or using the diamond for a pendant or something like that.

I’m wondering about this, too. I’d like to change out the center stone in my ring (different cut, higher quality), but I have no idea what I would do with the current stone. The ring itself is from Kay, but I’d get a stone from Blue Nile, so I can’t even trade it in (the stone I want is 3-4x the price at Kay).

I’d like to change my ring down the line. I’d probably take the current stone and make a pendant out of it.

I upgraded my wedding band, and I don’t know what to do with the old one. I don’t really like the design anymore. it just sits in a box, kind of feels like a waste.

I’m thinking of trading it in for the store’s diamond upgrade program. the problem is, I don’t really love any of their jewelry. so I just check in every now and then to see what they have.

Im keeping my original ring just the way it is! I want to be able to wear it from time to time, despite it being too delicate for everyday wear. 🙂

I received a family diamond after we were married so I guess it can be considered my “upgrade”.  I had my original diamond put into a pendant that I wear every day.

The jeweler made mine into a right hand ring!  continued the pattern from the band of the orig. Ering across where the center stone used to be… and now i wear it on the RH.  I was too sad/sentimental to get rid of it totally! new ring        old ring
