I know that every bride who has ever had an outdoor ceremony or reception are worried about rain until the day, but October is during Hurricane season here in Florida and my family keeps reminding me of it. My venue has an indoor room where we can do it if it rains, but it is not at all what I had envisioned on the day! Plus, I would be super bummed to not have out nice outdoor photos with my FH!
Are you overly worried about rain? What is your backup plan?

We’re having an outdoor courtyard ceremony. But it’s in New Orleans and October is their lowest month for rainfall (thank god). So I don’t technically have a back-up plan and am up a river if it does rain, haha.
But I think as long as you have the indoor availability you should be able to rest easy. True, it won’t be your original vision, but it’s hard when you can’t control things like the weather =/ Just know it’ll be beautiful no matter inside or out 🙂

I’m a little nervous about rain here in North Carolina. I’m also worried about cold…most October days here are gorgeous, but every once in a while we get a cold and rainy one. We don’t have much of a rain plan-we are renting a tent with sides, but that is our rain plan. Indoors is much better! If it does rain, I have seen some cute rain pictures with people who bought cute umbrellas and stuff. My Fiance made me promise not to stress about the weather since we can’t doing anything about it anyway. much easier said that done…..I will probably be watching the weather every hour the week of the wedding!!! Good luck though….hopefully hurricanes will stay away for you! (I’m hoping that late season hurricanes stay away myself because we are honeymooning in the Gulf on a cruise!)

I feel like I’m gonna be my own meteorologist in the upcoming weeks to my beach wedding. Our reception is underneath a covered pavillion on the beach so that is our back up plan if it rains but I know what you mean, I’m picturing my bare feet walking down the aisle in the sand and having my beach wedding, having it under a covered pavillion while it rains is def not what I want but….at the end of the day I’ve tried to remind myself that I will be married to my best friend. Any mishaps and bad weather that day will only make for stories for me and him to laugh about later on in our marriage.
Also…while October is hurricane season in Florida it is actually one of the months that has the least amount of rain(at least from my research on Destin weather). I mean if you think about it, half the year is hurricane season. Think of all the hurricanes that have hit…usually in August/September in the gulf.
But yeah I’m already praying for good weather everyday.

Rain isn’t a huge concern for me. Obviously I want an outdoor ceremony but my venue has a rain plan. In the event that it rains the reception dining tables will be pushed to the sides of the room, chivavri chairs will be made into an aisle, and then our wedding will happen right inside in front of windows that overlook the water.
I’m trying not to stress too much about it. 🙂

Outdoor bride here! My ceremony and reception will be at the same location. My mom made me rent a tent. I guess if it rains we have to move the ceremony under the tent. Not stressing about it just yet but the week of I’m sure I will be.

@Firinne: If it makes you feel any better, I looked up in the almanac the weather for october. I live in Georgia, so I was afraid of residual rain from a hurricane. The almanac said that october would be the driest coolest month, and that the threat for a hurricane would be in mid september. I also bought my dri day forcast, haha.

Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts. 🙂 I think that all of us will be ok! I guess I am more worried with all the rain we are getting right now. EVERYDAY??? COME ON!!!!

We’re in Las Vegas so if it rains… well, it probably won’t.

Im in FL too and getting married the same day! We are having an outdoor wedding on a golf course and I’ve been picturing it out there ever since we booked it, they do have a patio we could use but I would hate to do that!

I’m getting married outside in Southern New Husband. I’m terrified not only of rain…but of SNOW! If it’s anything like last year…it could be a blizzard. I have a contingency plan, but I really want that fall foliage in my ceremony photos. Fingers crossed!

Our venue has a seperate ceremony room so I’m not worried. I love the idea of being married outdoors but I don’t care either way! I’m just so excited for the big day!!!

We are getting married in a garden at an art museum in early October. They do have a room with large windows overlooking the gardens but I’ll be very sad if we have to move everything inside. The venue is gorgeous though and I will be marrying my man so really what more could I ask for 😉

Our venue is outdoors but covered. It’s an open air chapel in the mountains so luckily I don’t have to worry about rain! I never pictured an indoor ceremony but if I had a purely outdoor venue I’d be stressed to the max. This is the perfect option for us!

Our ceremony is on the terrace overlooking the golf course and it’s not covered. I’m not too concerned about rain. It should be really nice on our wedding day in Huntington Beach around mid 70 degrees hopefully. IF it does rain, the venue will just bring the ceremony inside the reception area. The dancefloor will become our altar and the guests will just watch the ceremony from their tables. Not the best situation and I hope it doesn’t rain, but it’s something. Hopefully the weather turns out nicely for your wedding! 🙂
