I vote to always leave more time than you think you would possibly need!
My ceremony is scheduled for 3pm and first look at noon. That said: I want a *ton* of pictures. I use to be a wedding photographer and that is making me be all photo crazy..

Our ceremony starts at 6 and pias will begin at 2 with a first look around 4. The photographers wanted to start early to give us time to return and refresher ourselves.

@DayDay:  Yeah I’m going to second everyone here as well. We’ve got first look and wedding party photos 2 hours before the ceremony, and I’m thinking we may want to push it back as a just in case for some extra time.

If you’re worried about your hair and curls, I’d express your concern to whoever’s doing your hair and ask for a pro recommendation for holding hairspray. My hair doesn’t hold curl well, but a good hairdresser can make sure it stays up, or at least recommend a hairspray for touchups during the day. Keep a small bottle in your emergency kit and see if your Maid/Matron of Honor can help you when you need it. I’m sure it’ll all work out and your day will be beautiful with beautiful stress-free photos. 🙂

Our ceremony is starting at 7 as well! Is there such thing as time twins on the bee?

I think you will be happy with the amount of time for your photos. My photographer wants to start at 3!! We will spend the first half hour doing our getting ready shots, and then the first look, and then we are leaving the ceremony site to get a bunch more in the town and at parks.

I think it’s best to trust your photographer, they are the pros, after all!

We did the first look, our ceremony started at 5pm and the pictures taking already started at around 1:30. It was not too early! The photographer took pictures of getting ready, the venue etc. There is a lot of positioning and walking involved and that takes a loooot of time. But we also had a rehearsal “walk down the aisle” in between. If you get your hair professionally done don’t worry. I had mine up and they put a lot of stuff in there to make it stay! I don’t think it will uncurl.

@Mathis13:  That’s my exact schedule! My photographer who has done like 3920482903 weddings suggested that to me.

@DayDay:  I totally ger your concern, but I think that timeline is good! I felt the same way when my photographer suggested that to me. I’ve heard things take longer than expected, so I don’t think 2.5 hours is too early.     Think about it, your makeup and dress will be in pristine condition!

We started two hours before the ceremony. We scheduled about 30 mins for the first look then an hour for portraits of us and the bridal party. Then we were able to hang out for a while before the ceremony started.

I’m the oddball here – our ceremony is at 4:30 and we are doing First Look photos from 3pm-4pm. These are *just* first look photos between fiance and I though, not all of the posed family or bridal party ones.
