@LadyBlackheart:  I’m in HR! I’m going to speak from my own experience and what I’ve seen in coworkers. If I got your voicemail, I would call or email you back – calls sometimes drag on and I tend to use emails to save myself some time.  If she doesn’t call you back, she may re-look at your application. But I’ve worked with people who will just ignore any contact from applicants… so it just depends on the person. Which doesn’t help you at all.

I know that everyone is busy at work, but I hate when companies don’t take the time to respond to someone (even with an automated rejection) to let them know if the position is still open, etc. I’m sorry you’re going through that.

One thing I’ve done in the past when I didn’t hear anything is go back on the company’s website and see if the position is still posted – at least then I know if I maybe have a shot or not. That might help!

I’m not in HR in that sense (I do more employee records related crap), but I’d call you back if it was me. Even if it was to tell you the position was filled.

@EllEmm005:  P.S. do you live in Columbia? I only ask because my whole flippin’ family lives and my DH works up there. XD Huzzah small world. Not like this is related to the post at all, but I am just curious.

You will probably receive a generic email back with your updated status or it’ll direct you to some place on their website/your online account for you to check yourself the status of your application.  GOod luck!

@LadyBlackheart:  I hope you’ve heard something by now or hear something soon, whether it is via phone or generic email! I once had a phone screen, passed, and went for an in-person interview. The hiring manager told me the recruiter would follow up with me that day or the next day. I never heard from them again, even after following up twice. I was so mad! So if you don’t hear anything, know that you’re not alone and that I am really, really sorry (and I know how you feel)!!
