Kiki1023:  That’s beautiful! What metal is it set in?

I’m not exactly sure how much it was, but I think it was around $1200.  14k white-gold setting from Zales online, 2.5ct spinel from Pristine Gemstones (Etsy), and a special ordered 6-prong head, locally set. Still “pricey,” but not even close to pricey for an engagment ring, especially of this size and beauty!

Kiki1023:  My rings have diamonds, but I definitely qualify on the affordability end! We’re frugal types and I love showing others that even with a small budget you can get something gorgeous. Mine is vintage art deco. The engagment ring was $500, the wedding band was $150 (plus $50 to resize). The metal is white gold. Couldn’t be happier!

My Fiance also has an affordable ring, his is titanium and meteroite and cost $465.

Kiki1023:  i think your ring is SO gorgeous!!! i love the setting. it looks kind of artsy which i love πŸ™‚

my husband was surprised with his mom giving him the diamond solitaire e-ring that she was given by his late father when they got engaged to give to me. had that not happened, we were looking at gemstone alternatives and conflict-free options for an engagement ring. white topaz was something we had considered.
