For those of you who have a personal wedding blog, do you tell your vendors about your blog?
The reason I ask is because recently I’ve had TWO vendors (at least!) find my blog and actually leave COMMENTS on it (I’ve only said nice things so far). Since I’m obviously going to “review” them, should I give them the heads up that I plan on blogging about them?
Just curious if anyone else has had this happen and if you notified your vendors about your blog.

I haven’t decided if I’ll tell all of them, but I’ll obviously tell the photographer because I’ll need to use the pictures on my blogs. It actually sounds like it might be a good idea to casually mention blogs to vendors- they’ll probably try a bit harder to make everything perfect for the wedding!

Yeah, my photographer knows about the blog because I’m using her photos too (we already did engagement photos).
I go back and forth if I should tell the rest of them….I think I’ll need to think about it a little bit more..

I plan on telling my vendors. Maybe it will make them work extra hard. ^_^

I’ve mentioned it to them as a courtesy, letting them know that I will be writing about them. But I wouldn’t say it’s helped me or anything.

I prefer to remain anonymous with my blog, so not even my family knows about it. I like it better that way. I can be more honest. So I wouldn’t tell my vendors because then I’d be worried that I couldn’t complain about them. (But I also didn’t mention them by name until AFTER their services were complete, so no backlash was possible due to googling it.)

I haven’t really told anyone about my blogging. Our photographer knows because I had to get her permission to post her images on the blog, but beyond that none of our vendors know that I blog for WB!

I picked other because I might tell some but not all.

I dont plan on telling our vendors. My blog isn’t public therefore I dont really think I need to tell them I plan to blog about them.
My blog is through our wedding website. The site is on our own domain (www.wedding.(FI’s last name).com) so we have complete control over it. Only those with the username and password, which will be sent out with our save the dates, can access the site and blog.

I guess the reason I’m so back and forth with this is that I know most vendors have google alerts and probably already KNOW I’m posting about them. Plus, I’ve shared our real wedding date, so it’s not that hard for them to look in their books and figure out who we are!
I’m going to try on my dress tomorrow (it got here a month early!) and I plan on taking photos in the store..maybe I’ll casually mention it to the ladies at the store to gauge their reaction =p

The only vendor who knows that I blog for Weddingbee is our photographers, and that’s only because I found out I was going to be a bee the morning of our engagement shoot.
I do wonder if vendors would make an extra effort if they knew that someone would be blogging about them. I mean, they should be making a huge effort no matter what, but I wonder if vendors go above and beyond when they find out that a lot of people will be reading about a wedding that they worked on.
