We stayed at Couples Sans Souci and had one of the cheaper rooms. It was a beachfront, but it was on the 2nd level which was nice because we really enjoyed our balcony and used it every morning and several times throughout the day. Another couple we met had a room overlooking the ocean and theirs also had a living room area. Their balcony was more spacious and had panoramic ocean views, but our bedroom was bigger, had a small living room (perfect size) and had a jacuzzi tub which is what we wanted. I dont know how the rooms are set up at CSA though! I would go to the Couples message boards to find out.

we stayed at secrets maroma beach in the riviera maya mexico 🙂 we paid extra and upgraded to a swim out room… you just walk out on your deck and their is a swimming pool right there!! pretty cool!! it was completely worth the extra money! we used it all the time! 🙂 plus i like being on the lower level.

@MrsCoachBtoBee: did you check out the 360 section on the site? they show a pretty good view of what the rooms look like.

@PitBulLover: hey! i remember that you stayed at CSS – FH had a change of heart last weekend and agreed we SHOULD have an immediate honeymoon so it looks like we’re probably going there! do you have any tips?

@PitBulLover:  My fiancee and I are going to Couples Sans Souci for a week in Septemberimmediately after our wedding.  I’ve talked to one other couple who also honeymooned there and they really enjoyed it.  Any tips on things that are a definite must-do?  Any suggestions, tips, etc, wouldbe greatly appreciated!

@MrsCoachBtoBee: I have been to Swept Away twice, and both times I stayed in one of the Atrium or Garden rooms. They are very nice. The beachfront rooms are great, also, but the tradeoff for having a better view of the ocean is that they are less private. You’re likely to have more guests walking right in front of your patio. (Not as big a deal if you’re on an upper floor, but I prefer the ground floor myself.)

If you do go with the atrium or garden room,  just avoid the rooms closer to the street – try to get one closer to the beach. And I like to be roughly halfway between the two pools/main restaurants.

Also, I would avoid the “Great House” rooms – I prefer the smaller buildings, and not right by the main pool. Also, note that some of the rooms have TVs and some don’t, in case that matters to you. (We didn’t miss it!)

P.S. No matter what room you choose, you will love it! Be sure to do the sunset catamaran cruise and the snorkel trip; both are included.

@elliestan: @futureforce: Thats awesome you are going to CSS! Dont miss the Dunns River Falls trip, its awesome. The glass bottom boat and snorkeling trips are NOT worth it. Dont even waste your time. A couple that we met did the private beach dinner for like $100pp but they said it was so dark out there you couldnt see anything. Instead of that we did a champagne cruise at sunset (inquire with the watersports guys – Rohan is my fav) and had SO much fun! Also, we never went to the nude beach during the day but after 5 PM it becomes sunset beach and its a lot of fun. We partied there a couple of nights and it lasts longer than the other bars. We also went there right about 5 and we were able to walk out onto this sandbar. To the left of the beach you will see a little river flowing into the ocean and if you walk straight out the water will be very cool. You can go pretty far out and only be up to your calves as well. You will see the locals playing in the water and hanging out on that beach to the left.

Make sure you get a massage, my husband didnt want one but I went and had it at the hut overlooking the ocean, BEST and most relaxing massage ever.

Dont take a Bob Marley shot – you will be blacked out by 8:30 PM (my husband was)

Our favorite spot that we didnt discover until the last day is so private and has the best water. If you go to the mineral pool, you will see a staircase to the right. Walk down those stairs and you will see a little massage “room” right next to the ocean. You can leave your stuff in that area and then you can walk right out into the ocean.

I sent an email to another user a long time ago about CSS and Ill try to find it for both of you. Wrote it when it was much more fresh in my memory!

yes, at CSA I was sooooo torn between the atrium rooms vs the beachfront suite versus the beachfront verandah suite… we ended up cancelling our trip but i’ve heard great thinghs about them all! I don’t think you can go wrong, but for a honeymoon, i’d splurge and go BFS.

@PitBulLover:  You went to the nude beach!  Hmmmm, I wonder if I’ll get up the nerve to do that. Smile

I would also love a copy of the email, if you can find it! You gave some great tips though, just in your last reply.  Thank you!

@futureforce: lol yes but not while it was nude. It becomes clothing optional after 5 PM whereas before 5 you have to be nude to be there! We did see some naked people in the pool one night but they were pretty discreet. Be warned though – several old people were raving about the nude beach and trying to convince us to come over to the other side. Um, no thanks! Althought the nude beach is much nicer than the main beach!!

I couldnt find the email, but let me think of a few more things….going on my lunch break and then Ill come back and write some more!
