I’m just curious how you are/already did estimate your total number of guests. Say you received 200 RSVP’s for yes. Do you give them 185? 200? I don’t want to be charged for people who don’t show up, and I’m sure there will be a couple. I have been told that banquet halls usually have extra food in house the day of an event. What are you girls doing???

I told the reception hall the exact number. There were 3 guests unable to make it to the wedding. They boxed up the food and gave it to my parents to take home.

I think it’s always better to say the exact and not under. Would they charge you some kind of penalty if you ask for more food teh day of? I also think you should make sure you knows what happens to any food thats left over- some will charge you for all the food they make but not let you leave with anything, which would make me really mad.
