I am SO glad this thread has lifted off! 🙂 I recently had a friend talk to me about her TTC process. She is just now starting & bought these pills for her husband & her self. IDK anything about them but maybe some of you ladies could look into them if you would like?
They’re called Fertilaid & they are for both men & women!
We aren’t going to TTC for at least 6months-a year. Hubby just got a new job and we are waiting on insurance!!! Has anyone already started taking prenatals? DH asked me a few days ago if I was going to start taking them, it hadn’t occurred to me to start so early, but I guess now is the time to get ourselves ready!
We plan on TTC in a year (June 2012?)! We’ll be *hopefully* married by that point. I’ll be close to 24 and he’ll be 24. We’re starting earlier than what others do b/c I have PCOS. If by chance I can’t get pregnant without medical treatment, I’ll put TTC on hold for several years. I’m not interested in medical help since it seems quite emotionally exhausting. If I do get pregnant, superb!
In the meantime, I’m trying to lose weight (eat better and some exercise) and pray that ovulate at a lighter weight. Basically when I was 80 lbs lighter, I didn’t ovulate but twice a year. But now that I’m heavier I ovulate 10 times a year. I don’t know what is up with that? Anyways, I’m hoping to lose weight and I really hope that I ovulate while I lose weight.
We plan on TTC any time in the next 2 years. I actually had a dr. appointment this morning and we chatted about preperation for that. She said all i need to do is up my calcium and I’m doing good. She said that since I already take a multi-vitamin, i don’t need to take a pre-natal. I don’t smoke, i drink socially, but not a lot. I don’t drink much caffine. I eat relatively healthy meals every day. I try to get a good work out in a few times a week too.
As for savings, I will be putting 100 dollars each month into a savings account for a child. it’ll grow and grow, otherwise, we’re already on a pretty decent budget, i think we’ll do ok.
I really like this thread, as
Yay for this thread! I’ve been stalking these boards ever since I recently heard my biological clock start ticking after swearing I don’t want kids. We plan on ttc in 2013. I graduate law school this May (EEP!!), need to take the bar, and we need a house. Fiance has already graduated with his Masters and is working thank God. He’s 25, and I’m 24. We only recently started talking babies, and have agreed on the time table of 2013 to start ttc. So, we started taking multi-vitamins now. We also run and I do yoga, so trying to stay healthy that way. Other than that, we need to start a nest egg. But, we also need a down payment nest egg so we probably won’t start putting money aside for a baby until we get a house in 2012.
I have been on prenatals for about a year now. I was given the advice by a friend that anyone who could conceivably become pregnant should be on a good multi-vitamin, preferably a prenatal. The same month she told me that we had our pregnancy scare, so I started taking one and never looked back. I figured I would rather be safe than sorry!
Is anybody planning on telling people (friends, family) when you start TTC?
When you start trying do you think you will start “casually”, by just going off your BC and seeing what happens, or go after it hard-core with timing intercourse according to when you are most fertile and stuff like that?
I wonder the same thing. Will anyone tell anyone? Last time I told a few people. IDK if we will this time or not. Maybe my mom? I’m not sure yet. Probably will though!
The last time we TTC we went about things as normal. We didn’t chart or anything. I got pregnant in four months. But I MC at 9 weeks. This time we do plan to chart though! & I want to take a multi-vitamin soon. Then start taking prenatals around 3 months before we start TTC. I’m not on BC. I never used it. (Well tried it for a couple months years ago.) Anyways so I have no help with that. I know its good to come off of it atleast a few months before trying, to let your body adjust & let your cycles work them selfs out. I would talk to my doctor about it & ask when is the best time to stop taking it. Set up a preconception appoitment. 🙂
I’m not sure who I will tell. My best friend is TTC now and we’ve talked about when I’m stopping BC pills. I’m sure I will probably tell her because I will need at least one female to relate to (my mom..well I probably won’t tell her until I get pregnant and I’m on the fence about MIL). The only problem with my best friend is that she’s family– Her husband and my husband are first cousins lol. So I’ll have to make her promise to keep quiet for awhile 🙂
AHHHHHHH!!!!!! this thread is amazing! i thought i was the only crazy one!!! I have been stalking the TTC threads and charting for the last 3 mths and my wedding is 6 mths away! my Fiance and i are positive we want a baby right after our wedding. i have a son from a previous relationnship is DS is getting older (almost 6) and is not mommy’s baby anymore lol. We both are having serious baby fever. we had a MS last year also that devestated both us. the pregnancy was not planned but not avoided either.
I suffer from blood clots so there is not alot of BC i can take that wont cause me to get another clot.
I have already started prenatal vitamins and we are have a pre conception appointment soon. thank God we both have awesome insurace through our jobs.
