I don’t get irritated skin from jeans, but I guess I just like to be more put together most of the time than just jeans/tshirt. I love dresses, maxi skirts (the yoga pants of skirts…haha), jeggings, and shorts. Also I buy casual pants that aren’t jeans–white cotton capris, linen pants, etc.
I personally swear by New York and Company–they have a TON of wardrobe options that aren’t jeans, and you can dress them up or down!

Isabelle663: I love silver jeans. They’re very soft, but that is a result of extra spandex, so they do wear out pretty quickly if they are tight at all or if you are hard on them (mine would always rip in the knee or butt)

hegetsme: I used to buy super expensive jeans and wear them daily. Then, I got in shape, lost a lot of weight and they all were WAY to big to wear… So, I never bought new ones. I’m not big on leggings, as I wear workout clothes 75% of the time that I’m not at work.
So, I will usually wear a lot of tight, pencil-cut business pants (look like leggings, but more dressed up) and any top. I have several black ones, a white pair, khaki and prints. I usually go for just below ankle length, and than can roll them inwards and press them for a more cropped look (depending on my look that day)
Sometimes I wear cute metallic gladiator sandals, a vintage tee and a big hobo purse. Or, a tight tank top with wedges and bangles stacked on my wrist. Sometimes a tunic tee/tank, long layered necklaces, statement heels and clutch. If it’s cooler out, I def do boots. Love a cute tunic tank, tight pants, a cute fitted jacked, stiletto boots and a nice long necklace and bangle bracelettes. I do sometimes wear linen type pants with a tight tank top or relaxed tee, statement flats and a nice, classic, but oversized handbag.
I find my outfits have been SO much more versatile, comfortable and “cleaner” looking since ditching jeans.

I second the idea for jeggings. I go for jeggings by Hue since they come in a lot of different colors and washes. Also I wear a lot of maxi dresses, linen shorts, and sun dresses.

Commenting to follow. I HATE jeans. They are so uncomfortable.

OtterHalf: I wear a street size 4, which is size small in the Hue leggings and jeggings. They’re very comfortable!

I went to Target recently and saw a lot of cute, comfy pants (palazzo pants, gauchos, lounge pants). Still very, very casual, but a little more creative than leggings and yoga pants.
I also really like Maxi dresses. They’re very comfortable, more polished than sweat pants, and you don’t have to worry about shaving your legs like shorter dresses!

Commenting to follow. I avoid jeans as much as possible. I literally cannot find a great pair of jeans and never have been able to…theyre skintight but still fall down and belts are painful, theyre always too long and the bottoms get destroyed within like two wears, theres never enough room on the pockets….ugh. hate jeans. I live in black leggings and tunic tops/blouses with tunic length camis under them.
I need recommendations for thicker and totally solid (not see through at all) leggings. Hit me with suggestions!

Levi’s makes a great “legging” jean. They’re really soft and comfortable, and come in a bunch of different colors- I really like the super dark blue color because they look nicer. They fit just like leggings, but you can tell they’re jeans.
These are the ones I have http://us.levi.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4044346&’ defer=’defer;

hegetsme: I do not really wear jeans either. The way I carry my extra weight, I just do not feel like traditional jeans are flattering on me. I have a pair of jeggings that I can wear with longer tops, and I will also do this with leggings or ponte skinny pants. I am not one to run around in exercise wear unless I’m exercising, but occasionally I will wear exercise gear to go food shopping early on a weekend morning or something. I almost exclusively wear skirts and dresses to work, and I also have casual skirts and dresses I wear a lot for summer (the key to comfort for these are wearing spanx or spandex shorts underneath). For me, this is so much more comfortable than jeans will ever be, I can choose shapes that are most flattering for me, and I feel more put together.

I love jeans – they are my go-to bottom… I’d like to wear more slacks and dresses but I just find myself pulling on jeans all the time.

Like the other posters, I live in my HUE skinny jean leggings, there is no need to go with jeans they are so uncomfortable. Hue is the way to go. I also love dresses, I live in a hot climate for most of the part of the year so dresses are my go to piece of clothing when not wearing the skinny jeggngs.
