Never heard of any problems either. Perhaps a bit of constipation or nausea if you take one with too much iron, but no issues other than that. They’re recommended by everyone I know.

I took them for 6+ months prior TTC and highly recommend them to all women of childbearing ages regardless if they are TTC or not. you need the folic acid to prevent neural tube defects.

I’d be really curious to see links to the articles about prenatals causing issues… logically there’s just no sense to that… It’s a multi vitamin with folic acid… all of which is very GOOD for baby.

the AMA recommends women start taking them at least 3 months prior to conception.  I took them for almost a year before we got our BFP.  Never had a negative issue, and my doc recommended it.

I’ve never heard of prenatals causing miscarriages or any other issues. Folic acid is extremely important in the first trimester, and if you wait to start them until you know you’re pregnant, that could be too late. Just take a gummy one without iron if you’re concerned about constipation.

I took prenatals for about 6 months before TTC and we were very fortunate to get a BFP after 3 months and have had a easy pregnancy so far at 31 weeks. I went to my Dr prior to TTC and I was encouraged to take folic acid, there was no mention of a risk whatsoever!

I started taking prenatals a couple weeks ago when I stopped taking my BC pills. So far I’ve noticed that I get really gassy within an hour of taking them. I take it with dinner. I’m hoping this is my body just getting used to the new nutrients and will subside…
