I’m getting an upgrade but since I picked out and bought the 1st ring I’ll probably wear it as a right hand ring.  The second ring I picked out too (it’s closer to my dream ring) and fi told me to use his card and buy it.  So no, no ‘new’ proposal. LOL

I just upgraded the centerpiece. The original diamond on the centerpiece was about …geez.. 1/20 carat? lol it got upgraded to 1/3 carat lol I love the ring so much I didn’t want to let it go. The ring got sent out yesterday and I will get it back in two weeks =)

I haven’t gotten my new ring yet. But, it’s in the works.

I have had two wedding sets. The original he proposed to me with will always be the ring I keep in my jewelry box. It’s very sentimental to me and I’ll never part with it. But, I lost a lot of weight, had to have it resized and lost a small stone… and now it’s too big again! The second I bought because my husband was fighting Cancer for most of our marriage and I wanted a “new set” for our new life. I wasn’t attached to it at all because HE didn’t have any parts with it. So I recently sold that one to my youngest brother where it will get lots of new love!

Hubby wants to get me a new set so the plan is that he will buy me a LOOSE moissy, I pick the setting.. and he will be in charge of having it set so I dont know it’s ready… and he’ll re propose! We originally planned to renew our vows this year but with my mom and brother getting married soon it’s just too much so we’re going to just write our new vows for each other and move forward =)

@puppiekisses:  I love that you traded in your ring to pay for your dog’s surgery! (not that you HAD to, but that you were willing to). Priorities win.

@Willow1991:  How about a nice pendant?  Or put it at the top of a journey style pendant?

when I upgraded my ring I traded in the center stone. We had gotten it from Jared and they have an awesome trade in policy. So we picked out a different larger center stone and used the value of the first stone towards it. I plan to do it again on our 10 year anniversary. can’t wait! haha.

as far as surprising me goes, it’s pretty much impossible with jewelry. I am waaaay too particular, and he doesn’t ever want to pick something out that I wouldn’t like. Besides, I am a little fanatical about rings and I love looking at them/shopping for them all the time, so I always am changing my mind and picking new stuff out. When it comes time to upgrade again, I will be the one to do it. We both have accepted that jewelry is just not a gift I can be surprised with haha. There are plenty of other things to surprise me with, so it doesn’t bother me. Also, my husband is not into jewelry shopping at all. It is not his cup of tea. I think he would rather go down a slide of razor blades and land in a pool of alcohol than go ring shopping. So it works for us!
