For those of you who took honeymoon right after the wedding, did you leave from the wedding to the honeymoon or stay a night at home before leaving? We’re actually delaying our honeymoon for a couple months but taking a minimoon to a nearby inn. I’m debating whether we should go on sunday (right after the farewell brunch) or monday. Thoughts?

@classyashley: Mr. 99 and I were married on Friday night, we spent the night in our house and then met up with friends and family at a local coffee shop the next morning to hang out and kill the rest of the wedding cake, after running through Target for some last minute items, we flew out for Fiji via Los Angeles that afternoon.

We stayed the night at the hotel and left on Sunday.

We are getting married on Saturday night and staying in the same hotel as our guests, we’ll have brunch with our guests on Sunday morning and then leave for the airport.

Fiance and I are leaving our wedding at around 12 midnight, getting in a limo, and riding straight to the airport.
We are going to St. Lucia, and got a 7 day package deal so the flight leaving at 6am was the best for us. We will be at our villa by 3pm on the Sunday after the wedding. The other flights have a 12hr layover in NY and we were not trying to do that!

We got married on Saturday night. We stayed in the hotel with our guests that night. Opened gifts Sunday and then spent the night at home Sunday and left Monday morning.

My sister and bro in law left directly from their reception , I don’t recommend it! They were running around like crazy and had to leave early . For ours we got married Friday and left Monday ( plenty of time to pack and relax a bit with out of town family.) plus its cheaper to fly during week esp Tuesdays. Christmas did impact us leaving Monday though, we wanted to at least get Christmas eve w family.

We get married on Saturday, stay in the hotel Sat and Sun and leave for Jamaica on Monday. I hear that day of downtime is crucial.

We are leaving our reception to go to a hotel 45 mins away…45 mins closer to the airport so the next day our drive isnt quite so long to go on our honeymoon.

we’re getting married Sat eve, and leaving Mon am for our honeymoon. I wanted to leave Sun but honestly, we’ll probably still all be drunk lol

We got married on a Friday and left for our honeymoon the following Tuesday morning. I was very thankful we gave ourselves the few days to unwind and put our lives somewhat back together before leaving, it made a huge difference in the stress levels.

We’re getting married on a Friday and leaving for the honeymoon on the Tuesday. We figured one business day to cash the checks and a couple others to relax!

We’re not married yet, but our plan is:
1. After the wedding we’re going to a hotel for the night.
2. The next day we’re going to drive back to our place, and pick up our suitcases and dog. (She is coming with us)
3. Then we’re going to our honeymoon the next day. =D

When I was little I always thought people had the reception, got changed into a fabulous white pant suit at the end of the night and heading directly to the airport for the honeymoon. I can’t imagine actually doing this, it would be so stressful saying goodbye to everyone while trying to get to your flight on time!
We plan to get married on Friday, brunch with out of town friends/family on Saturday moring then fly out on Sunday.

We got married on a Saturday. We slept at our home on Saturday night (after opening our gifts and eating the wedding leftovers and some cake) and were picked up by a car service bright and early Sunday morning. We had a direct flight to Cancun.
