my husband is a marine and he wore his dress blues. we also had an arch of sabers, so we had several guys in uniform at our wedding. i didn’t plan my wedding colors around the uniform at all. it didn’t even consider it because i wanted colors that were “me.” i chose turquoise/aqua, corals, and a bit of yellow. and i got several compliments on all the vibrant colors 🙂

@Celeste13: Thanks for sharing the pictures! The color scheme looks great! We might go with mess dress as well. At first I was hesitant because his lapel color is green and I thought at first (before I even knew or thought about wedding planning) that I’d have to coordinate it or it’d look funny, but I’m not worried about it now 🙂 Might as well get use out of those jackets, they were quite expensive!
@lilchicana: Ooh I love those colors. If I were a bit more bold (which most of the time I’m not! lol), I would choose vibrant colors, but since my crazy type-a personality creeps out with certain things, I just can’t decide!
@amber_415: I bet it was beautiful! I’m a big fan of yellow as well

I know I’m late to this thread but I am having the same issue. Fiancee is wearing his Army dress blues but we are having a Halloween Eve wedding. I am not wearing a white dress and hope to put my bridesmaids in purple…I’m worried the wedding will look like a mess color wise LOL. The best man is Air Force, one Marine and two Army….I’m trying to keep the color scheme as low key as possible now.

cacy: Not a military bride, but I think anything goes with dress blues IMO except for maybe black! It’s a good look!

sunshine1112: Beautiful dress. The whole thing is elegant and classy ( the real thing and NOT what a lot of Kleinfeld brides mean when say classy, more’s the pity)

So I know it’s not the same but my dad wore his dress blues for my wedding. My mom matched him and my brothers were all my bridesmen so they wore a lighter gray than the groom and my littlest brother was the ring bearer while my sister was the flower girl. Just wanted to show you that these colors looked good together in my opinion. Good luck!
