haha how funny!

I would accept any proposal from my SO – with a ring, without a ring, without any intention of ever getting me a ring! Its not the ring that matters, its the intention and the significance of binding your lives together as a family unit.

This is hilarious! Yes, I told him I’d say yes with a piece of string on my finger. That would just be a great conversation piece! So awesome.

I would have said yes to that ring, any ring!

I got a diamond, but it is the symbolism of the ring not the $ value.

Too funny!  I’m afraid to send it to mine though, or he might actually get it.  🙂  I have a t-shirt that says “black diamonds are a girl’s best friend” – and then a logo for a ski mountain nearby.  (I used to race when I was a kid – my parents got it for me when I had just graduated college and they moved near that mountain.)  I should start wearing it again, except it has a stain on it.

I admit that I *would* like a diamond ring (I am ducking my head as I say it – sentiment on this particular board generally makes this seem almost shameful to say).  I don’t need a terribly fancy or expensive one (which, mind you, he could very well afford today), but, I don’t wear jewelry as a general rule and I plan to wear this particular piece for 50+ years, so why not admit I’d like this one piece I’ll wear for the rest of my life to be nice?

I know this sounds terrible but I might accept a ringless proposal before I accepted one with this unless he had a damn good speech to go along with it. After all this waiting if I got some joke of a proposal, I’d probably murder him. However, if he had a really nice proposal planned and gave this to mean telling me that he got it because he really just wanted to propose but he’s still saving for the real deal or something along those lines, then yes. It’s really the sentiment that counts as far as I’m concerned.

lmao that is funny! I don’t think bf would propose with this ring though, I know he’d want to do it with an actual diamond ring.

@LaurenK0105:Aw~! That’s so sweet. It’s funny, my Fiance had a similar reaction. While we were ring shopping together I sent him a link to a ring I liked on Overstock.com and his reaction was cue horrified look ‘I am not buying you an online discount ring.’ I’d never thought about it, but I guess the effort behind e-ring means a lot more to guys than I thought.
