mrs_mnv :  Sorry to hear that TTC is taking longer for you two! If you’re not really sure why that is, then I’d be more apt to address my concerns with my doctor and start looking at what the root of the issue might be. I’ve never seen this syringe before, but if you don’t know what the issue actually is, then it may or may not be a helpful solution.

Eeek. I saw it online but I’m not big on taking stuff that isn’t doctor prescribed. Especially TTC. It honestly could make matters worse…

I’ve heard about the stork cup.

I don’t see the harm, fwiw. I wouldn’t do 100% of your FW BD via the syringe but adding a day or two of careful placement to your otherwise normal schedule makes sense to me.. heck I’d consider it.  Tbh though I was considering just getting a regular old sterile syringe and a sterile cup.. costs a fraction of the price and I don’t see the difference: do you?

TiggersMitts :  It’s basically a refined “turkey-baster” in that you just use the syringes to inject the semen into yourself. There’s no sharp needle involved, so I’m not sure why it would require a prescription.

FutureDrAtkins :  woops. The page wouldn’t open for me and I just read syringe and I thought chemical cocktail. Which FWIW is a horrible idea and I’ve seen advertised hahah. If it’s just to baste yourself I suppose it couldn’t hurt?

TiggersMitts :  Yes! Major marketing overhaul needed. It’s easy to see how anyone would think that without seeing the picture on the website, lol!! That’s why I had to go take a gander for myself 🙂

mrs_mnv :  yeah we have The Stalk in the UK http://www.boots.com/the-stork-at-home-conception-kit-1-single-use-kit-10226452 £100 though for single use 😮 it does say it’s success rate is comparable to IUI though (between 16% and 21%). Pretty sure our issue is my endometriosis that I’ll be having treatment for in a couple of months time but otherwise we might give it a go (if it was on offer).

I watched the little video, and basically this is a 10ml leur lock syringe with a rounded head for Her Comfort during insertion. Which is not a BAD idea, I suppose, but good lord I want to know why it’s $79.00. Seems a bit unscrupulous to me.

mrs_mnv :  my period looks like it’s gonna start tomorrow or Saturday, right on time, even though I didn’t ovulate this month. Goes to show regular doesn’t mean everything.

As an aside, I bought a $3.50 syringe on Amazon after checking out Mosie.
