I would definitely not be going to this wedding as a bridesmaid. In fact, I wouldn’t be going at all. No way I’d leave my tiny newborn with anyone overnight, no way I’d travel with my newborn before 2months-ish after his/her first shots, no way I’d wear that dress even without nursing (I also have a big chest..).. but especially while nursing.. your boobs will be bigger, most likely leaking and uncomfortable, your baby might easily be cluster-feeding at that age (6-week growth spurt) and will want to be feeding every hour or two.. I think that if your friend is truly a good friend she should understand that being a bridesmaid at 6 (or possibly 4 if your baby is late) weeks post-partum is difficult even if it’s a local baby-friendly wedding, and she should be happy to have you there as a guest if you feel up to it nearer the time.

I went to a friend’s wedding at 37 weeks pregnant and it was really exhausting and tough. But let me tell you it was still nothing compared to the idea of attending with a newborn.

Also some people really struggle to pump at the beginning. I never actually really managed to pump anything even though I’m exclusively breastfeeding. So there’s also that.
