Hey bees, I’m having a tough time deciding between an oval and a round solitaire from Lauren B (Forever 1 moissanite) for my ER. Here are a few designs I really love:
I’m also having a tough time deciding between going with all white gold or with rose gold band and white gold prongs and basket. I’ve been obsessed with rose gold, but I’m concerned that the rose gold will leak into the center stone, and I prefer a very white look (not a huge fan of the warmer hues).
Would love your opinions! Please share pics if you have similar solitaires (non-halo) 🙂

If you do white prongs and basket it really won’t matter what is on the shank. Go with what you like.

here’s my thinking, but bear in mind that i too am a total newbie and trying to choose a ring. if you tend to gravitate towards warm colors and wear gold earrings, gold bracelets, etc, go for rose gold. if you tend not to, go for white. if you have short fingers, i think it’s good to stay away from oval and go with round because oval is taller and takes up more lower finger space. you may not have that problem (i do.) just things to consider

Oval stones should make your fingers appear long. Round is a classic look, but I personally would prefer the oval. Good luck choosing and just go with what you think you’ll still love in 5 years. (:
Btw, please please keep us updated on your decision andwith ring pics! I’m considering a Laurenb ring, but I’m from the Midwest so I’m trying to decide if I truly want to order online. /:

I love my 18k rose gold (the more yellow variation of rose) and would not change it for the world. My skin eats rhodium plating so white gold was not a wise choice for me.
But it really comes down to what your style is. I have never been one to like the mixed metal look, but my sister LOVES it. So if you like it, I would say go for it, because the uniqueness is awesome! Of the options that you posted, I prefered the round stone, even though i personally have an oval. I think that setting compliments the round stone so nicely.
Best of luck bee!
