I’m debating on a FB or an Amora moissy. Does anyone have experience with the comparrison between the two? Is there a big difference? Neither one is avail at M&Co right now in the size I want so I’d like to do some research before hand. Thanks

I think the main difference stated on the M&Co website is that Amora is whiter. The Amora process has tested to make the original moissanite more durable than before. I don’t know if they have tested the FB hardness in relation to untreated moissanite. But color aside (unless you are extremely color sensitive, you probably wouldn’t notice the difference), I have only heard good things from FB owners. I was really lucky and got an Amora last year right before they ran out of stock, and now a friend is getting engaged with a FB stone. M&Co screens them to make sure the FB stones they send out are top quality, with no burn marks or anything. I’m not sure if anyone knows exactly what the process is for FB (Amora is known to be a high pressure, high temperature treatment) but it has been determined that it is not a coating.
I would probably go with FB, just because the waiting list for Amora is sooooo long and there is not a huge difference.

@faith0126: What size are you looking for? I saw some for sale on diamond bistro
Also, I had researched the same thing a while back and after looking at quite a few pictures I did not see an amazing difference so I went ahead and bought a FB. Of course, my stone is relatively small (4.5mm) so it was not a big investment and I can switch later if I choose.

I don’t have any comparison photos of FB vs Amora, but I figured I’d post a couple pictures of my new Amora loose stone. That way, hopefully some other bees can post some pictures of their FB and you can compare the two! The first two are indoors (in fairly buttery lighting) and the last one is outside on an overcast day (which are apparently the days that tend to show the most color!)
