Mine is a 1.8ct equivalent center stone on a size 10.5. This stone is from Etsy and they do not use a brand name for their moissanite. This is considered a colorless stone (I asked for a colorless forever one and they said this is their equivalent.)

If diamonds aren’t important to you and you want brilliance and sparkle with a clear stone moissanites are so perfect. I’m beyond happy I went with it! Let us know what you choose’

My stone is a smidge smaller than what you are asking for (1ct equivalent) but I have the new colorless Forever One Hearts and Arrows from moissanite co and I LOVE it so much! She shines like crazy. We just got our engagement pictures done today and our photographer got some amazing shots of my ring. My stone is never yellow in any light and definitely no dark spots.

beevermont :  Thank you! I chose moissanite because I just couldn’t wrap my head around spending more on a single stone than I did on my entire car lol. I also like that they are cruelty free and they have a fun backstory that I can trace back to my personal love of astronomy. We could have easily purchased a diamond but I am so glad we went with a moissy instead.

I absolutely LOVE my Forever One. (I got it from Charles and Colvard.) It is superbly sparkly, especially when I’m sitting in the backyard where I have pretty string lights hung up. I have my grandmother’s diamond wedding ring too, and I wear that on my right hand–every god damn time of day, I’m telling you, the Moissanite sparkles so much more. Every kind of light. I get compliments on it all the time and…I’ve never gotten compliments on the actual DIAMONDS in my grandma’s ring (though people have complimented the style of the ring).

I plan to order another wedding band from Charles and Colvard as well. Moissanite forevermore! You will NOT be disappointed in it. 18342536_930453550430829_3903458989270369325_n

There has been so much moissanite hate on the boards lately, it’s nice to see a thread that hasn’t gone that way (yet, lol). I LOVE my stone. Love love love it. I nearly crash my car like twice a week because I’m still staring at it. It is a Radiance moissanite from Joseph Schubach Jewelers. It is actually champagne colored, so not what you are looking for but I just wanted to chime in and say I am so happy with my choice!

I have a F1 moissy 1.5 carat and LOVE it. I had a diamond the first time I got married and wanted something different. I was going to go for a ruby or a black diamond but found out about moissy and decided to get it instead as I love a bit of sparkle 🙂 Zero regrets here. In fact, I often pat myself on the back for making the decision to spend less as it was definitely the right decision for us. I love diamonds too but I love saving money more because I am a skinflint haha.

beevermont :  I have a 1.92 equivalent F1 colorless center stone. My side stones are diamonds and in full sunlight they all sparkle like crazy. My moissy sparkles all the time. And I adore it.

A couple of things.

The meteorite story is kind of a farse. Yes, trace amounts of SiC were discovered at the crash site, but no natural moissanite is gem quality.

Moissanite being more ethical is kind of a toss up if you’re not also using recycled metal or if you have diamond pave like many moissanite rings have.

Moissanite can oxidize and develop an “oil slick stain.”

If you’re ok with all of this, then get a moissanite. They definitely have more fire than diamonds.
