Hello fellow bees! I posted awhile ago asking for opinions on either a Rivini dress or a Maggie dress. After all the great responses (thank you btw!), I decided to go with the Maggie Shaylyn dress.
Here’s the caveat though….I loved the Shaylyn, but what I didn’t love was the separation between the bodice and the skirt. It just seemed too pronounced. So fast forward a couple of weeks and here I am at another crossroad.
Before I go into which two dresses I’ve narrowed it down to, let me give you some insight on what I’ve been going through. A heck of a lot of indecision. I’ve been finding myself going through my top dress choices only to knock them down with some sort of criticism. I’m finding fault with every dress I try on! This is normally not me! The end result is that after hours of online searching anddress shopping, I find myself frustrated that I can’t come to a decision. I thought buying your wedding dress was supposed to be fun, but now I’m at my wit’s end.
Anyhow, back to the matter at hand. My two new dresses are both Maggie Sottero dresses: Shaylyn and Doreen.
Love, love, looove the bodice! Neckline, lace embroidery, and overall shape is great! Embellishment looks nice too. My biggest complaint is that flow from bodice to skirt is not at all gradual (which is something I want), but appears to cut the upper part of my leg in half. And being only 5’2″, I’m really worried that once it’s hemmed to my height, this dress will really make me short since it appears to cut across my thighs.
I have absolutely no good pictures of this dress, but this is the best I have. One MAJOR thing to note is that the dress I tried on was way too big for me, so please keep that in mind when comparing the two dresses. What I love about this dress: similar neckline shape, great embellishments, clean flow from bodice to skirt. What I am getting altered on this dress: no scallop edges on neckline, zipper closure instead of corset.
So, what do you ladies think?
