    Honestly?  They both look great on you.  I think you’re right that the reason the first dress looks better is because the fit is better on the sample.  I like the first slightly better – the way the drop-waist makes the flared skirt flow is so gorgeous.  But if you don’t like the dropped waist on you, or feel self-consciously short in it (I am 5’2″ and totally get what you’re saying, although fact of the matter is that 5’2″ in 2-3 inch heels isn’t actually that short) the second one will look fantastic when it’s sized correctly.

    I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

    I think the first dress looks spectacular on you!! I agree with looking for a petite size. Also, and I know nothing about altering dresses so this could be impossible, but could a seamstress potentially move that line up somehow? So the torso is shorter and the line hits up higher where you want it?
