I probably would but I dont take it off unless Im cleaning with chemicals or if I were to lift weights. When I do take it off I make sure to do it near my dresser (rather than in the bathroom where it could fall down the sink etc) and put it in the same place everytime. The other night I was making turkey burgers and took it off so I could mix the meat and yes afterwards forgot to put it on (for about an hour) but it was in a safe place on the kitchen table (again away from any disaster the garbage disposal may have had in mind!) and went down to get it as soon as I realized it wasnt on. 🙂 My sister takes hers off every night and has forgotten to put it on in the morning a few times…

It’s only been once or twice over the whole engagement.  I got used to it very quickly, and so while I don’t normally forget my ring, the few times I have, I feel so naked all day!

I only forgot my ring once! I was running out of the door on the way to pilates! I couldn’t turn around or I would be late. I hated not having my ring on. It was so weird how I felt completely naked without it!

I never understood that saying: I feel so naked without my ring, until that day! I have never forgotten it since!!

I forgot it once and turned around to go get it.  I am so much happier when I have it on!

For the first time i forgot my ring this weekend.  I took it off while I was going to dye my hair and then when i had to leave the house really quick, I forgot it in the cleaner bottle.  Not only did my finger feel naked (has anyone else noticed that their finger is totally deformed now from your ring? Or is mine just too heavy?), but my whole body felt ike it was missing something.

Since it will have been a long and winding road to get Miss Scarlett (my nickname for the sparkly one), I won’t take it off probably..very rarely.

I take mine off all the time!!  I think its in my pocket more than I wear it…  But I’m a jeweller by trade, so when I’m working at the bench, forming metal with power tools and torches and abrasives, my ring is MUCH safer in its second home: my pocket.  I forgot and left it on once, and gouged the shank in about 3 seconds.  You can imagine what my hands look like most days!!  (I’m freaking out about how to get my hands/fingers/nails to a respectable state for the wedding, but thats another topic.)

When I’m not working on jewelry, I’m outside splitting wood, hauling dirt with a quad, building fences, picnic tables, etc for our campground, so my ring stays in my pocket then too.  I think I only wear it when we drive into the city or have company!!  I’m lucky that my fiance is understanding – and harder on his hands than I am on mine, lol.

I work from home and don’t always put it on in the morning. I almost always put it on before I leave the house, but I forget sometimes. I like wearing it much better than forgetting it!

I never take off my ring unless I’m getting into something very messy. Even then, I always put it back in it’s box which is sitting on my vanity. I don’t think I’d ever forget to put it back on. It’s like wearing underwear… You just don’t forget! I love my ring, and I want to enjoy it everyday, all day.

On a side note, I think it is a very bad habit to take your ring off! There is no reason you should be taking it off unless, like I said you are getting into something very messy and don’t want to deal with cleaning it.

I don’t wear my ring to work 2 days a week, so sometimes I forget it on the other days. It doesn’t seem that weird on work days but it feels awful on non-work days! It’s so funny, I feel much more naked when I can/should be wearing my ring!!

If I take mine off, I would probably lose it! So i only take it off to clean it or if I’m using the diamond polishing machine at work (to polish metal, not my own ring!) because the gritty bits would ruin my diamond. Or, sometimes if my skin is real dry, the callus I have where the thick band of my Ering rubs starts to get chaffed and starts to hurt…which means rings off, vaseline and gloves on asap!

Your ring will be OK to sleep in, by the way. Diamonds are not that delicate =]. Unless you think you’ll scratch your face…i have yet to do that. I’m just one of those people where if i leave it on, I cannot lose it!

Yes…I do..this happened a few weeks ago right before a work trip. I make sure that I habitually out it my jewelry box. If I am rushing, my mind is racing, and I don’t go into the jewelry box, I forget it. At least it’s in a good, safe place though.
