We’re going to have one of our engagement pictures blown up and printed to be displayed at the wedding… but they’re all low key informal shots.
I think it would be nice to have one photo of us in our regular clothes, and one like a wedding portrait. Did any of you take pictures in your wedding attire (gown & tux) prior to the wedding to be displayed for the day of?
Not sure if that is the normal thing to do?

I have never heard of that before. I don’t think people will look down on you for having informal pictures blown up at the reception.

As a wedding photographer I can tell you that it’s very common to have photos displayed at the wedding in casual clothing. I see it OFTEN. Usually it’s a shot from the engagement session done with the wedding photographer but sometimes I’ve even seen portraits from the couple’s childhood and old family photos. It’s pretty rare for a couple to dress up in their wedding attire beforehand to take photos to display but I’m sure it’s been done. There’s definitely nothing wrong with displaying any of your favorite pics though. Good luck!
