- Wedding: July 2014
We are having an afternoon tea wedding but I’m VERY concerned about the photos. Besides actually getting married it’s the most important part of the day to me (I wanted to elope… hah).
I figure a cocktail hour makes little sense because we’re basically just having tea so how do you put small bites before small bites. Then I’m thinking, If I just allow the reception to start, we might miss almost all of it doing photos. So we wanted to do it before the ceremony (I don’t care if I’m seen by FI) The major issue I have is that puts our formals smack into the harshness of the midday sun in July because afternoon tea has to start by a specific time of day. My venue’s value is basically the beauty of the outdoor grounds – the inside is nice but not what I would love to see in my formals.
We’re keen on a photographer that does AMAZING very artistic formals and charges a ton per hour. We wanted her for some details, the ceremony and the formals and then letting her go…. so we don’t want to keep her through the reception and do them at the end. Besides that, my makeup and hair will be messed and Fiance is likely to spill on himself like he does a lot… so that’s not my favored idea.
This photog does do post wedding sessions in formal attire after the day that are a bit more expensive than the hourly rate on the wedding day and will get rolled into the wedding DVD. I was thinking we keep formals short after and do a session post wedding. I just worry about dressing up all over again (I’m not a girlie girl but feel it is required for wedding photos!) and maybe not capturing the happiness of the day because that day is over.
Any suggestions on this?
