My wedding isn’t until Oct 2017 and I’ve already bought my dress. I didn’t go into a salon, mine was picked up preowned. I hope I don’t get dress regret, but only time will tell!
Good luck on finding your dream dress in the new year! 🙂

I bought my dress 14 months before my wedding. It was the first dress I tried on. I bought it on the spot and never have had a second of regret.
My reaction to the dress was so strong I knew I’ d never waver. My dress was discontinued about 6 months later. Dress regret is a risk but you may regret not buying the dress you love.
As your dress has been around for a while why not check out the preloved sites… you may snaffle a bargain and then if you do change your mind you won’t feel so bad from a financial aspect.

She said that because she was trying to scare you into buying now. I’d wait and if you’re worried, call DB after the holidays and ask. The usually discontinue dresses before new lines are released to make room for inventory, so if it made it through the most recent sales, it’s probably going to be around at least until the next cycle. If it’s still the one, you can get it in 6 months.

David’s Bridal should be able to give you a time frame for the lastest you can place a order for that style. 21 months out is a long time for a dress, even with alterations. Especially if think you might want to keep looking. This way you give youself some leeway but still know you have an amazing option.
In the meantime, I went to a bridal expo this past Sunday that DB helped sponsor and I got a $50 bridal dress and $25 Bridesmaid or Best Man dress gift certificate for making an appointment for next month. I got the tickets for free with a coupon code I found in a magazine and you’ll want to try on a dress again ifyou decide to purchase so i would plan on trying to do this closer to your wedding.
Do you have a venue? Are you trying to ‘match’ the space at all?? Either way congratulatons! How exctiing to find a dress you feel beautiful in, especally with your family present!

Good call. Far too early ( I think).

I mean… I bought my dress from David’s Bridal 2 years before I was even engaged. My fiancé and I went in to get a dress for another event, we saw this one in the window and on a mannequin, I tried it on, and we loved it so much, we bought it! I’ve been waiting ever since to wear it! David’s Bridal still has the dress- but I’m so glad I had it already when we got engaged and began the planning. Everyone is different 🙂

I bought my dress and my wedding isn’t until Dec 2017. I love my dress and know how I am as a person, I know when I truly want something, I’m not going to regret it plus I’m leaving the country in September 2016 for a year. So, I needed to get my dress early so I won’t be rushing after September.
It’s really up to you, if you’re the type of person to keep looking through these forums wishing their dress was yours, wait. If you’re like me who realizes some dresses look better on another person then don’t wait.

David’s Bridal was not able to give me a time frame. I really wish they would have!
I actually went to the appointment because I got the $50 coupon from a bridal expo! But I wasn’t planning on finding anything. But yes I will think about trying to get another coupon closer to the date when I want to actually purchase.
I do have the church & reception hall booked. The dress fit the style of both spaces perfectly, which is part of the reason why I loved the dress. Thank you! 🙂
